In Case You Missed It – Greenbelt Sunday Service

We know that many of you attend Greenbelt, an annual festival and celebration of arts, faith and justice. This year, they didn’t have their traditional, large-scale gathering for communion on the Sunday. Instead they released their Sunday Service as a podcast and asked people to listen to it wherever they were. The theme was The Job of Paradise. The podcast-style service took its title from a wonderful poem by the poet Roger Robinson. It is shaped and narrated by poet, theologian, and conflict mediator Pádraig Ó Tuama. The service lasts about 45 minutes. It’s designed to be listened to in one go. Either on your own or with others.

Friends,

It was fantastic to spend time, all be it virtually, with nearly 200 Fair traders over the course of the last few weeks. Inspiring as ever, to hear your stories of getting back into action and to get your overwhelmingly positive feedback on the new catalogue. Following the success of the Live Fair For Lent talks earlier this year, I am proposing to host '12 Days of a Fair Christmas’. A 1-hour talk given by me to your community giving 12 ideas to make this Christmas the fairest possible for both people and for planet. This virtual evening will be hosted by you, presented by me and designed to be relaxed and friendly, no hard sell. The events will run weekday evening at either 5:45pm or 7:00pm between November 1st and December 1st . To book a slot, email me - matt.oliver@traidcraft.co.uk with your first and second choice of date and time and I will create a zoom link for your meeting. You then send the invite to your community and make sure they have access to a copy of the gift guide. I'm dreaming of a fair Christmas, are you? Finally another gentle reminder that Mondays in customer services are incredibly busy with orders. Please can I ask that general enquiries and bill payments are left to another day of the week. Also if you do not remember your account number, the team will need to ask you for your postcode. I hope you enjoy this edition of bulletin and as ever…. Happy fair trading.

Matt

Our Great North Runners – You Did It!

A huge well done goes to Traidcraft’s very own Kirsty, Paul and Liam who completed the Great North Run half marathon last month. Lots of money raised for different charities close to the team’s hearts, including Teenage Cancer Trust and Dogs Trust. What an achievement!

Letter of the Month

This month’s shout out goes to Deb Lee and her grandchildren, who are getting creative with Traidcraft packaging!

I thought that this photo might be fun for a bulletin! My children and now my grandchildren have always enjoyed playing in the Traidcraft boxes! It helps pass the time when they come to visit! Take care, Deb

Welcome to the Team, Chelsea!

“I'm currently taking over for Jude whilst she's on maternity and I'll be doing B2B work. In my spare time I like to socialise with my friends and going to festivals. I also enjoy going to the gym and eating a plant based diet as I am vegan. Other than that I'm not very exciting haha!”

Real Good, Feel Good Rice

A bag of rice can change a life

Food scarcity is becoming a real issue in today's society. In the UK, more than 14 million

people are living in poverty – including 4.5 million children.

The humble bag of rice has the power to change lives. To do their bit in addressing this injustice, Just Trading Scotland are launching our biggest ever rice donation project with the aim of strengthening communities both here and in the farming communities in Malawi who have also been adversely affected by the pandemic. Find out more and see how you can get involved here.
