Thirty years ago, Rails-to-Trails began converting unused railroad beds into trails suitable for bicycling, horseback riding, walking, rollerblading, and similar activities. Thanks to their ongoing work, over 30,000 miles of unused railroad tracks have given way to wide, smooth, relatively flat trails offering great visibility and in many cases, scenic views.
