Product Description

Aim: Coaching for performance supports the development of highly effective coaching skills and techniques that will help delegates to begin driving high performance through coaching their teams and their organisations. Participants will understand the important role coaching plays in encouraging others to reach their full potential and perform to the best of their abilities.


Through practical coaching models and techniques, participants will identify ways of bringing coaching into their everyday approach to leading and managing. Coaching for performance is a crucial element of a managers armoury, equipping them with practical techniques to have ‘challenging’ conversations; improve poor and average performance; and ensure high performers remain high performers. Through practical activity and discussion, participants will establish their own coaching kitbag to apply within their role.

Creating the right environment to drive high performance

Using feedback techniques

Setting high performance SMART goals and objectives

Applying high quality questioning techniques

Using models to support challenging (task and behavioural) conversations

Exploring coaching models and applying them to ‘real’ coaching examples.

As an outcome of this development, delegates will be able to: 

Raise awareness and understanding that driving high performance is a balance of task and behaviours


Make the best use of the latest coaching models to structure and ensure effective performance conversations

Identify and maximise performance conversations through corridor coaching and feedback

Understand the importance of timely feedback and the techniques to make feedback effective

Understand how to set robust performance management goals and objectives that contribute to business results and culture

Use appropriate models to support having challenging performance conversations
