Share your TICE experience with @trainingindustr WELCOME TO TICE 2024! #TICE2024 2

Greetings Learning Leaders!

It’s a pleasure to welcome you to the 2024 Training Industry Conference & Expo (TICE)!

At TICE, you’ll find a community of learning leaders who are passionate about learning and helping each other achieve their professional goals. It is an honor to be a part of this community and to see its growth each year — we anticipate 650 learning and development (L&D) professionals to gather this week!

Themes at TICE will focus on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on L&D, and becoming a strategic learning advisor. Your journey from order taker, fulfilling training requests, to strategic advisor begins here at TICE.

In our opening keynote session, you’ll learn how AI can augment human talent and help us make smarter decisions faster. Our panel keynote session will give you the opportunity to join the conversation about how AI is actively impacting learning organizations, offering real-life examples and lessons learned. Our closing keynote will walkthrough the steps and skills needed to forge strong partnerships with company stakeholders as a learning advisor.

And of course, we all know learning can happen outside of the classroom, too: In the exhibit hall, you’ll have access to a wide range of learning partners ready to demonstrate their unique approaches and solutions to enhance your learning programs. You can connect with other learning professionals at TICE’s formal and informal networking opportunities. Meet your peers over coffee and meals, participate in roundtable discussions to share your specific learning challenges and unwind at TICE Happy Hour. Join us at The Pit to network and build professional connections while enjoying authentic BBQ.

As learning leaders, you play a pivotal role in advancing our industry. Your presence at TICE signifies your commitment to excellence and your dedication to driving positive change. I look forward to witnessing the impact that this week will have on your professional journeys.

Once again, thank you for being a part of our learning community. I can’t wait to learn alongside you during TICE!

Sincerely,

Leading Leadership Development Certificate

Explore what makes a great leadership development program. Learn strategies to develop your current and future leaders.

Successfully managing your organization’s leadership development programs is key to ensuring your organization’s leaders are prepared for their current and future roles. The Leading Leadership Development Certificate equips you with the proprietary tools and methodologies developed by Training Industry through years of research into the leadership development strategies and programs utilized by high-performing training organizations.

During this course, you will learn about the leadership development marketplace and the learning and development (L&D) strategies that your peers have used to positively impact their organizations’ leadership performance. Discover how to apply those strategies within your organization, and how to evaluate and select leadership development vendor partners to ensure your programs are achieving maximal impact.

23

Training Needs Assessment Certificate

Training Industry research suggests that less than 20% of organizations have optimized their diagnostic processes. Filling the gap between your training programs and organizational goals requires an in-depth understanding of diagnostic and needs assessment approaches to ensure targeted training and development. Effective needs assessment will position you as a strategic business partner who understands organizational needs and how learning can strategically solve them.

In this Training Industry certificate, you will learn about four different levels of needs assessment, gaining an understanding of when each level is appropriate based on the questions you need answered. You will also review several data sources and data gathering strategies to ensure that you have all the information you need to make the right recommendations to your stakeholders. Finally, you will learn how to align your needs assessment with the right solutions, anticipating any potential push back and gaining buy in for your recommendations.

Upon completion of this program, you will gain:

• An understanding of the training needs assessment process, including scoping appropriate timelines.

• Several job aids to assist with data gathering, stakeholder meetings and project planning.

• A certificate validating your new expertise in training needs assessment.

Pre-conference sessions require a separate registration.

Let’s Move Beyond BS Metrics

Proving the Impact of Training

Imagine if you took a more innovative approach to learning measurement and looked through the lens of cultural anthropology. What if you considered the human condition? What gets people interested, what makes them tick, and what makes learning stick? Traditional metrics can fall short, providing only superficial insights that miss the essence of the employee’s point of view. Looking at learning from a different angle brings a fresh perspective. It uncovers insights that re-frame the way we look at evaluating learning programs and enhance the long-term success of both programs and people.

In this session, we will dive into the art and science of measuring the employee learning experience by leveraging the tools of cultural anthropology, which can revolutionize your approach to metrics. Together we co-create a new type of measurement design, one that considers the human at the center of what we are trying to accomplish. You will leave the session with a modernized way of creating metrics that have meaning and it won’t stop there. We will share what we do together by consolidating each group’s ideas and providing them to the attendees as a follow up.

Consider the transformative potential!

This interactive session will be workshop style and will allow participants to:

• Go below the surface of traditional metrics and discover meaningful stories and cultural dynamics embedded in learning experience measurement.

• Bridge the gap between the data and emotions in the learner experience, while creating your own version of meaningful metrics through workshop activities.

• Adapt and customize your learning programs to cater to diverse needs which will result in higher overall engagement and retention.

• Assess the real impact of your programs and enhance your data-driven decision making skills.

A New Skills Taxonomy to Bring Hearts and Minds to Work

Future-Proof Your Workforce

Evolve. Or Else. The Path to Becoming Trusted Learning Advisors

Dr. Keith Keating

BDO Canada

Since the inception of formalized workplace learning, learning and development (L&D) has been taking orders from company stakeholders outside of training. We sat by while others called shots, made the decisions, and told us how, when, why and what type of learning interventions we would use in our organizations.

But progress requires change. We can choose the familiar path that is safe and comfortable as order takers, or we can rise to the occasion and be the agents of change that our stakeholders, learners and organizations need us to be — trusted learning advisors.

As we head into the next evolution of the way work is accomplished, the opportunity for L&D to demonstrate value within the organization is going to be pivotal in the ultimate success or failure in navigating digital transformation, talent development and the future of work.

Join Dr. Keith Keating, a distinguished chief learning officer and visionary author behind the award-winning book, “The Trusted Learning Advisor,” in this compelling and insightful session where he will illuminate L&D’s evolutionary journey and unveil three pivotal strategic methodologies crucial for L&D leaders to secure their influential presence at the decision-making table.
