•
Limit yourself to ONE DRINK PER HOUR. (That’s all your body can metabolize!)
•
Pour your own drinks and know what a standard drink is (see below).
•
Alternate each alcoholic beverage with a full glass of water.
•
Count your drinks. Be creative - you can use the tab of a beer can, bottle cap or straw to help you keep count.
•
Set a limit before you start and stick to it!
•
Plan how to say “no” after you reach your limit.
STAY SAFE
• Eat a full meal before drinking to slow down the absorption rate.
• Be aware of any possible interactions with all medications you may be taking. •Be your own person-don’t get caught up in peer pressure. • Be wary of “Jungle Juice” , punch bowls, and drinks handed to you by others. If you didn’t see it being made then you really don’t know how much alcohol is in it.
Solo cups are typically 18 oz. That means that if you fill a brand name cup with beer, you are actually drinking a beer and a half!
