Dear Tico 27,

Welcome to COS! Congratulations on your Close of service! We’re happy to host your Close of Service training (COS) at the Hotel Tryp Sabana. We have been fortunate enough to use this hotel, thanks to some very good bartering on the part of PC and some very generous price-cutting on the part of the hotel. We ask that you please uphold the positive image of Peace Corps to ensure the hotel is willing to host future training events. Accommodations: You will sleep in luxurious, shared accommodations (mostly triples). Married couples will have their own room. Thursday 10 – Friday 11 Medical, Dental, LPI and Exit Interviews: Please refer to emails from Medical, Sandra and Rocio regarding your personal appointments on Thursday and Friday. Breakfast will be served in the hotel; all other meals are on your own. Monday - Friday Meals: Breakfast is served buffet-style in the Restaurant near the pool starting at 6:00 a.m. Refreshments and lunches will be outside of the meeting rooms. Dinners will be on your own, except Wednesday night when you will have a group dinner at Anne’s house. Per Diem: You have already had 20,000 colones deposited into your bank account and between march 9 – 10 we are going to deposit another 12,000 colones, for a total of 32,000 colones to cover the following: Dinners (4,000 colones per dinner x 6 = 24,000); Lunches (4,000 colones per lunch x 2 = 8,000). PCVs who travel for more than 5 hours also had 8,000 colones deposited for lunch in transit on Sunday and Saturday travel days. Transportation costs were also deposited based on historical transportation costs to/from site/SJO for each PCV. *Additional expenses should be reflected in a reimbursement form provided at the Conference.

The COS Conference will be held in Sabana 1 starting at 8:00 a.m. on Monday! Recreation: You are encouraged to enjoy the hotel and its amenities: hot water, cable t.v., and gym. The Sabana Park, near from the hotel, has trails and fields for those of you who prefer running/walking outdoors. As a courtesy to guests, please refrain from group gatherings late at night in public spaces. Wi-fi: The hotel will provide each interested PCV with an access code for wi-fi use at check-in. The access code will allow you to use the internet from personal laptops for the duration of your stay. Looking forward to seeing you soon! Laura
