Endingthestigma.org was coded and design by Tramika LaBranche, an idea that individuals with HIV/AIDS, their partners, and supporters could use this site as a space to connect. The site was made with the informational contents such as WebMD and a forum such as those found on many question post sites. As well as the site for The American Foundation for AIDS Research.

COVER LETTER Who I am as a designer and graphic designer.

The act of understanding anti-normativity, with the norm being a social construct that has unknown consequences. The unknown consequences, perchance may be isolation, alienation, possibly deathly. The act of identity is what I am confronting, that act of identifying what it is the viewer is looking at. We have an innate need of identifying what we see and experience. The curiosity to identify a person’s race, gender, sexuality, and what their socio-economic status is. Then once that other is identified it becomes a part of what we consider as a norm. This process makes us feel comfort in knowing what it is we are either looking at, speaking to, or experiencing. But what does this process entail when we cannot identify the other that we see, or interact with. We soon think how this is not a norm, and proceed to alienate the person we encounter, due to the fact that this person does not fit within a category we can attach a stereotype to or label into a box. How does this someone correct this process, or incorporate themselves with the norm? Policing and self-policing, comes into the answer field. The act of policing to pass, instead of being alienated or suffer those unknown consequence, then you must pass. Emulate the norm, dress as a woman, identify as one, and become a woman. This is the process in which my work confronts. I am still very much working through these thoughts. I strive to encourage viewers to question themselves as they look at my works. In addition, I also explore the existences of individuals who are non-gender conforming, especially those from the LGBTQIA+ community who have been brutally murdered or driven to suicide due to rejection by those closest to them. This is a discussion that desperately needs to be undertaken, concerning how our society treats the other—those who are racially different from the majority, those who do not conform to the heteronormative. The other, is often seen as animal, as a shameful threat to the normative if those who maintain tradition do not self-police and tame their wild fantasies outside of societal norms. My work captures the innate need, felt by shamed individuals, to cling to societal norms and stereotypical behavior.

PACKAGE DESIGN.03 / Tramika LaBranche

HERBAN, social gardening, was mainly a package design project that grew into a social website for individual in inner city areas. There is a large amount of community gardens, mainly for those who would like to grow their own food sources as a better way of saving those extra coins for other expenses, especially if the individual has a large family. The design of the package and logo study will be shown in this section.

HERBAN, social gardening: This package is a beginners herb garden set. The buyer would purchse the kit via, herban.com, and once you recieve the package of a tin gardening bucket, seeds, sticks and pencil to mark your seed positions, a small journal to write your watering times, name of herbs, and community gardening areas around you. The site was also a great social ground, were the individual would be able to interact with herb growers near them and talk about what has worked and what has not in their own personal herb gardens and the community gardens that they have transferred their herbs to.

Stereotypes Stick was an in-location installation to confront the stereotypes associated with a person’s appearance, job, or hobby. Just a person who looks young is judged when they are in a teaching position, or a person of color would be overlooked as a caucasian or white person would be much more likely to receive a job after an interview.

There is also a map involved, so you can look up certain help centers for blood test, in-person support groups, and clinic locations.
