Images
We prefer to receive images in electronic form. We can process most formats, including Photoshop CS6, JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, PICT, & TIFF files. While every situation is different, most images should be between 10k and 100k in size.
Logos
The best way to send logos and other line art is in EPS file, Illustrator CS6, or Postscript format. If the file contains any specific fonts, please be sure they are converted to outlines. If an EPS file is not available a medium to high resolution image file is acceptable.
Text
Ad copy can be sent as a text document via email, in either a PDF, Microsoft Word or plain text format. We will also accept text and layout created in InDesign and Illustrator CS6.
Video Ad Specifications
Any Standard Ad (728x90, 300x250, 160x600) or Expandable Ad can be submitted with a video component but the most common unit is a 300x250. Pre-Roll & Post-Roll Video Ads are ads with a video/Flash advertisement that plays before an editorial video content stream. File Size: Existing ad size standards must be maintained. The maximum file size for the video component is 1.5 MB Video Length: Video ads must be 30 seconds or less. Pre-Roll & Post-Roll ads must be 15 seconds or less. Acceptable Formats: WMV, AVI, MOV, MP4, FLV and MPG Both 4:3 and 16:9 are acceptable aspect ratios. If a 3rd party company is used for ad creation, the audio must be user initiated with a click. Video stop/start button, as well as a mute button, must be present at all times. Video controls should use commonly accepted terminology or icons and be distinct from the rest of the ad.
Flash Files Production Guidelines: All standard ad positions can use Flash creatives with the exception site/section sponsors, half banner and newsletter units. For each Flash creative the .SWF, .FLA and backup .GIF or .JPG file must be included. The .FLA file is used for troubleshooting only. If the user does not have a Flash player installed on their machine, a backup .GIF or .JPG will be served. Our standard Flash version is Flash CS5. (We can accept up to Flash CS6.) All prior versions are acceptable. Please note that mobile platforms do not support Flash files. All Flash ads must use clickTAG method to define the destination URL variable. Creatives that do not have the clickTAG method correctly implemented will be rejected.
