"Prez Sez" BRRRRRRRRRR!! Well, this winter has certainly been a cold one and even though Punxsutawney Phill & Wiartron Willie saw their shadows and therefore committed us to six more weeks of winter, Shubenacadie Sam from Nova Scotia & Fred la Marmotte from Quebec did not see theirs, so they are saying that there will only be 42 more days. Who can a Healey Guy, or Gal, believe? I understand that it was so cold in some areas, some Healey drivers even put their tops up! What ever are things coming to? No matter, the days are certainly getting longer and soon we will be able to bring our cars out of their winter sleep and once again enjoy driving them, but before this happens we have the Ancaster British car Flea Market on April 20th and Ed Kesick is, as usual, looking for volunteers to man the event. This is the main fundraiser for our Club and has enabled us to keep the dues where they are for several years now, so when asked to help please say YES. If you can't wait to be asked then please contact Ed and tell him you would like to help with the event (and have a choice of where and when you can help). Your executive will be meeting soon to make sure your Club is still on the right track and to put some events together for the coming year. I hope that you will support as many as you can and make Laurie Wilfords job, as Events co-ordinator, a satisfying one. Conclave in June in Virginia is shaping up to be a good event and a group of us are going to travel down to it. Make plans very soon if you would like to join us. Time is getting shorter to make sure that your car is ready and safe for the summer driving season, which will be upon us before we know it. So, why not this year resolve to……….. Drive your Healey. They like it and you will too! Bob Yule
View From the Navigator's Seat Our last Pub night was rather ‘skinny’ on attendance, and I am sure, as was the case with us, the weather was the culprit!! I am convinced that the Arctic is trying to retake at least Southern Ontario! My Scottish relatives have been sending me alarming messages saying, we read that Niagara Falls had frozen!! They could not believe it! The frigid temperatures we experienced at Christmas was as we thought – short lived – no such thing – the deep freeze just keeps on coming! A few days back to semi-normal and then right back to really cold. Of course this would be the first year in many years that the ‘big guy’ decided we would not take a nice, warm winter holiday. His popularity ratings (with the rest of the family especially our daughter) have therefore, have dropped, like the temperature – dramatically. So the female gender is praying especially hard for an early, warm spring – and the dream of a wonderful Healey summer!
