MAY 2013 SUMMER SUPPLEMENT

2013 ANCASTER BRITISH CAR FLEA MARKET What a great day for the 32nd Annual Ancaster British Car Flea Market. The great weather brought out many British car enthusiasts in search of parts to complete their restorations. The event was well attended which brought a lot of activity to the inside and outside vendor areas. The sunny skies encouraged approximately 250-275 British cars to be driven to the car show for everyone to enjoy. The event could not have been a success without the help and dedication of the volunteers for this important fund raising event for the Austin Healey Club of Southern Ontario and the British Sports Car Club. This year we made two changes to the procedures. The first was that the set up crew arrived at 6:00 a.m. setting up the tables earlier than usual.Positive comments were received from many vendors with regard to the early set up in Marritt Hall. The early morning set up crew managed to have all the tables in place by 6:45 a.m. allowing vendors early access to the hall. A special thank you to the early set-up crew for a job well done. The second change was bringing the British Cars into the grounds through Gate 2 which eliminated the backup on the main road. The success of the Flea Market is due to the efforts of the 100 volunteers from the Austin Healey Club of Southern Ontario and the British Sports Car Club. The funds raised from the flea market allows both Clubs to be able to fund events for the coming year. Once again, the Flea Market Committee would like to acknowledge all the volunteers for their contribution of time and we sincerely hope that you will consider volunteering for the 2014 event.
