Module Five Self-Study: Guiding Clients into their Bodies

Electric Body, Electric Health (Part I)

 “Biofield” is another term for the auric field, energy field, Pranamayakosha, or Prana body

 Eileen is using less “woo woo” language to describe our LightBody

 Using a scientific/Western lens to approach the schism between science and spirituality (one and the same, “I have come to see what we call the biofield as the same thing that we call soul” 64)

 Understanding the body as a rechargeable battery

 Prana is the “juice” of the electrical system (water is the generator)

 As we more consciously work with the electrical system, we create stronger, more coherent vibrations

 Emotions are vibrations. When we do not process them out of our field, they stay stuck, and we have less access to our prana (blockages)

“Raise Your Voltage, Not Your Vibration” (XXXI)

 Eileen intentionally uses “raise your voltage” to guide people in not bypassing what’s there in the body, or trying to “escape” the physical realm

 Instead of talking about “low” or dense vibrations, she talks about discordant vibrations. It’s about becoming more coherent by tuning our systems and strengthening the vibrations of the Bliss body.

 Both/And approach? We are talking about eventually hanging out more often in higher vibrations, so it’s not a complete picture that she’s painting. And we are preparing the body for ascension and need to clear out the dense, discordant energy in the field weighing us down. But we don’t need to understand this energy as “bad” or “dense,” we just can’t take it with us.

Biofield Anatomy Map

 This is an incredible resource to us as coaches. We don’t need to create the wheel from scratch! Eileen has come up with a very accurate way of “reading” symptoms and sensations in the body, and the emotional residue that lives in different pockets, corresponding with the chakras.

 Her hypothesis is that this is a bioplasmic field, that mirrors the electromagnetic bioplasmic field of the earth.

 “What we call mind and memory are actually inside this electromagnetic field. The information of everything that we’ve ever experienced, and even what our ancestors

experienced, is encoded in standing wave format in the body’s electromagnetic field, with specific areas holding specific types of experiences. In this model, your body is inside your mind, rather than the other way around.” (17)

Toroidal Field:

 P.37 picture

 P.62: “In BT we view the human biofield as a bioplasmic torid-shaped bubble that surrounds the body at a distance of about five to six feet on the sides and two to three feet at the top and bottom. This magnetic bubble is bounded at its outer edge by a protective double-layer plasma membrane that is much like the earth’s ionosphere and the sun’s heliosphere.”

 “if we look back to ancient Vedic and Chinese medicine systems, we find a codification of the workings of a life force energy in the body that kept us alive and healthy, and when blocked, created illness and low vitality. They understood everything in life as energy, electricity, vibration; they knew that in the body, this energy—which was constantly in motion, flowing, and circulating—had to be kept in balance and harmony” (68)

 Earth Star Chakra beneath feet (ascending current)

 Sun/Soul Star Chakra above crown (descending current)

 Sushumna is the central energy channel that the chakras are aligned along

 When we work with a client’s energetics, we want to charge up this central channel to activate the Lightbody (already “activated” but we are dialing it up, “activating your inner lightning rod” (70))

 The energy is a bidirectional flow that whale spouts in both directions

Sacred Geometry:

 Yoga asana is a specific technique of using physical postures to generate more coherent energy in the field by mimicking sacred geometry that we find in the Universe

 Sacred Geometry is an “ancient science exploring the energy patterns through which the universe organizes itself. Why sacred? Because they speak to the hidden order, the selforganizing principle, that underlies all of creation. When we attune ourselves to this fundamental aspect of creation, we come into powerful contact with the harmony inherent in the natural world.”

Why does this matter?

 [T]his is practical knowledge. Raising your voltage isn’t just about connecting to your own electromagnetic body. It’s about connecting to the universal electromagnetic body as well— and using that connection to help you become healthier and happier, more resonant, and in tune with all of life.” (57)

 “[O]ur emotions are magnetic and our thoughts electric. Magnetic fields guide electric currents: Our feelings are primary, and our thoughts follow. When we work with our emotions, we’re shifting the magnetic field, which is then shifting the way the electric current is running through the body—and ultimately showing up in certain mental and phsycial patterns. Physical pain is often the final manifestation of an emotional pattern in the magnetic field. If I have a pain in my right shoulder, I have too much electric current running through those wires.” (80)

Parallels with Inner Alignment Coaching:

 Understanding of trauma as stuck vibrations in the field that need to be processed out, many of which are ancestral

 As we experience trauma, parts of ourselves become fragmented off and we have less access to our prana (“aging” as loss of light/prana over time)

 Healing depends on rewiring mental patterns that are grafted over emotional energetic records in the field.

 Emotions are vibrations! “Your Electromagnetic Emotions” (79)

 As we guide clients back into their bodies, we are allowing them to re-rhythm by unplugging from the unnatural, chaotic, and unsustainable rhythms of capitalism and an out of balance society, and to reconnect with their own internal rhythm and the rhythm of the universe.

 We are also introducing them to practices that allow them to do this on their own.

 Plant medicine, Yoga, mantra, energy tools are all different ways of helping their systems rerhythm.

Guiding Clients Into Their Bodies

 Through the Spiritual Somatics perspective, the physical body is a technology that allows us to function in this 3D realm.

 Through patterning and conditioning, we forget that we are a soul having a human experience and come to over-identify with the physical plane of existence

 It is a paradox that people come to believe we are our physical bodies, and also forget that we have them!

 A major entry way into self-healing is by bringing people into more conscious relationship with their physical body.

Doshas

 We begin with the Doshas, as a way to remind people that we are of the Earth—we are a collection of elements! And through those unique ratios, we each have an individual energetic constitution.

Breathwork

 Breath is medicine. Pranayama is working intentionally with the breath to shift the energetics of someone’s field.

Yoga

 Asana poses intentionally bring the physical body into Sacred Geometrical forms in order to consciously shift prana in the body, creating more coherence and charging up the central channel (spine).

Body Scanning

 Most people’s minds are so loud that they are not able to notice physical sensations in their bodies.

 Imbalanced Vata leads to disassociation, and imbalanced kapha leads to energetic density and blockages that can make it hard to feel into the body.

 Beyond this, trauma and pain bodies (lower belly to solar plexus) feel bad, and people just don’t want to feel those things!

 In Ayurveda, physical disease is thought to be a physical symptom of a severe energetic imbalance that a client has ignored for too long.

 These physical symptoms are like a check engine light, they communicate with us what needs to happen.

 Body scanning is a basic building block that encourages clients to begin sensing in to how their body is talking to them all the time.

 Eventually we are able to interact with the body like a barometer. “Oh, my right hip is achey, time to slow it down,” or “I feel a pressure in my heart, time to sit with my grief,” or “My shoulders are so tight, I didn’t realize I was so stressed.”

We want to separate out different sections of the body, encouraging clients to just scan and notice what they feel in:

 Upper arms, elbows, forearms, hands, fingers, and fingertips

 Thighs, knees, shins/calves, ankles, feet, toes

 Hips, tailbone, pelvis

 Lower belly, lower back

 Mid-belly, mid-back

 Ribcage and lungs

 Heart and Chest

 Upper back, shoulders, and shoulder blades

 Neck and throat

 Facial muscles

 Third Eye and Crown

This provides them an opportunity to slow down and realize they have all of these body parts! The initial scan is to just get general information that can then be returned to for deeper inventory.

“I AM” Chakra Affirmations (Diagnostic Test)

In a first session with a client, once you’ve had them do an initial scan, you can guide them through the major chakra points along the spine, reciting affirmations at each chakra point, letting them know the associated color and themes that are found there:

Root Chakra (Red): “I am safe and the Universe provides me with all of my needs”

Sacral Chakra (Orange): “I am a creative, balanced being” Solar Plexus (Yellow): “I am peaceful action”

Heart (Green): “I am (Divine) Love”

Throat (Blue): “I am Truth”

Third Eye (Indigo): “I am Wisdom”

Crown (Purple/White): “I am Source/Divine”

The purpose here is to model for the client how to work more in depth with body scanning, and to be with and name sensations without creating a mind story about what they mean.

Instruct them to “try on” the affirmation in the body for the corresponding chakra, and to notice what comes up for them there. There might be:

 Sensations (color, texture, pressure, weight, temperature)

 A visceral mind reaction to the affirmation (“yeah, right,” “There’s no way the Universe provides me with all of my needs, etc.)

 Something they might label an emotion

 A memory

If a client is having a hard time articulating what they are feeling, assure them there are no right or wrong answers, and it just takes time to be able to sense into the body. It’s helpful to share with them your “failures,” too, to normalize it not coming easily. Encourage them to practice finding language for what they are noticing, and to use their imagination to describe it.

You can let them know it doesn’t “mean” anything, you are just running a diagnostics test to see what’s going on in each chakra, and then they’ll be able to do a deeper dive during their self-study.

Baseline Vibration

Before we guide a client into work an old trauma, or introduce the Destination Vibration, we want to get a sense of what their baseline is. For the client, this means bringing the unconscious vibrations in their body into consciousness.

You can do a full or abridged initial body scan, and then guide them back into their torso area and to bring attention where they are experiencing more sensation. Invite them to bring their attention to these places, and to note the qualities of these sensations.

You can encourage them to begin each morning scanning their body for their baseline vibration so that they can recognize what they are bringing into their day, and where they are starting from.

Destination Vibration Association

The Destination Vibration Association is a fabricated event where we cue the client to tap into a memory where they experienced “flow.” We are gently guiding them back into their hearts, and reminding them what it feels like.

You can instruct the client to think of a memory (time, person, place, ritual, practice, etc.) that lights them up when they think about it. They can be thinking of a time where they felt joy, gratitude, contentment, optimism—whatever vibration feels reachable for them.

From here, encourage them to “try on” this memory in their body. When we do this, we are asking them to pull up the energetic record of this association in their field so they can merge with it and transport themselves back there. While we are utilizing the Sacral chakra and the power of the imagination to recreate the event, energetically, this experience is real, not imagined.

You can ask them to share with you pieces of what they are envisioning, and then you can use their key words to say it back to them so that they can be free to feel the vibration in their body, since you are now holding the container with them.

When they have been here awhile, you can ask them what they are noticing, and if anything has shifted.

Remember, there is no right and no wrong. Some clients will be able to drop in right away, while others might not be able to access their heart yet. Some will even veer into grief (which needs to be felt so that it can be cleared).

Continue to offer guiding, supportive questions:

 Can you tell me more about what that feels like in your heart/stomach/hands?

 Is there a color?

 Do you notice any shifts?

If clients are able feel a shift in their Heart (warmth, lightness, opening), celebrate that with them! Tell them this is what “flow” feels like! It’s not actually about the association they are using. We are just using that as a “hack” to allow them to access their Bliss state.

The more they practice these vibrations, the stronger, and more coherent they become in their field. And the more they’ll be able to begin noticing when they feel that openness in their hearts during the day.

It’s important to tell them that we become so accustomed to our vibrations of suffering, pain, loneliness, unworthiness, that we often don’t register these higher vibrations of joy and contentment. Bringing attention to them will allow them to expand and flow into regular daily life.

Feel and Process

Feel and Process allows us to begin to metabolize some stuck trauma in the body, and to investigate what is triggering us. As coaches, we celebrate when clients are triggered because this is an opportunity to heal!

Remember: all emotions are just vibrations. There are no “good” and “bad” vibrations! Vibrations just are. Often emotions can feel big and overwhelming, particularly when the nervous system is still in a heightened state.

For Feel and Process:

1) Begin by getting the client’s Baseline Vibration.

2) Invite them to pull up the recent event in their body that left them in a triggered state.

3) Ask them to temporarily “merge” with it so that we can get the data, and remind them they have access to their Destination Vibration if it starts to feel too intense.

4) Begin guiding them in just as you do with a Body Scan:

o Where are you noticing sensations?

o What are the qualities of these sensations? Is there a shape, color, texture, temperature?

5) Encourage them to simply be with the sensations without rushing ahead to create a mind story about them, or to connect them with a memory. Create space to simply be with them. Hold the container so that they feel safe enough to stay here with them.

6) When it feels appropriate, gently guide them up to their mind to notice any mind patterns or stories that they are projecting onto these sensations. Remember, mind stories piggy back onto the emotions, but these are separate processes and events in the body. We want to slow it down and decouple them.

7) Invite the client to name any mind stories that they are witnessing out loud. Invite them to witness and hold space for these stories without judgement (clients will be quick to rationalize why they “shouldn’t” think something. We want to show them it’s okay to bring all parts of themselves to the table).

8) Then, guide them back into their torso (or Heart if you are able), and ask if they can simply accept that these vibrations and stories are living inside of them. We want to get them to a place of acceptance before we go further. If they are having a hard time here, you can gently ask them, “what’s the hardest part of accepting that these vibrations and stories are living inside of you?” This will usually elicit an emotional response, and you can simply say, “let’s sit with that and just be with these emotions that are coming up for you here.”

9) When it feels appropriate, begin to ask them if there’s been another time that they have experienced these sensations and stories in their body. Encourage them to remain open to any images or memories that surface in their mind, and to trust their bodies to show them what wants to arise, even if it’s not the memory they would think would come to mind. If it brings them to a particular time in their life rather than a specific memory, ask them if they have any specific memories from around that time that they would like to do some work with.

10) Here you do the process again:

o Invite them to pull up that memory and try it on so you can get the data

o Ask them to share with you the specifics so that you can be with them in this memory

o Have them watch the situation play out like it did in 3D, and then ask them, what where you feeling in this moment? Sit with them with that emotion. Be a compassionate witness.

11) Ask if there’s anything that they needed to say, or do, in that moment to speak their truth and stay in integrity with themselves (which is to stay, they maintain their power and sense of alignment).

12) Assure them that this is Spirit time, and there’s no physical repercussions. They can say or do anything—nobody will be physically or emotionally hurt. This is just to rewrite the energetic memory out of their field.

13) If they are having a hard time and are not sure what to do, you can try on the situation and suggestion, “when I try it on I want to say X, or do Y”

14) If people are carrying a lot of trauma in the Sacral, they will not have much access to their Imagination, so you may need to do more work here.

15) People will often try to be “Spiritual” and stay kind. Let them know you won’t judge—they can kick, scream, swear, be mean . . . this is just for them to get the energy out of the field. Often what they will need to say is at the developmental level they were at at the time of the wound.

16) When they have rewritten this memory, invite them to check in with their body and notice what it feels like to have stayed in their Truth.

17) Then, invite that younger (now rescued, empowered) self into the more recent trigger. Have them ask that younger self for advice on what to do or say.

18) When it feels complete have them thank their younger self for coming and doing work with them, and let them know that they can call on them any time they need some support. We want these inner parts to work together.

19) Slowly invite them to deepen the breath and return to the space as they are ready.
