Before I begin let me ask the room a quick question. What is the longest bike ride you have ever gone on in one day?
■ Also – raise your hand if you have ever been on a proper 4+ day cycling holiday?
Survey says…..
200 respondents revealed the following:
■27% only use their bike for getting around, going on errands or commuting to/from work or school
■30% identified themselves as a “true roadie”
■11% identified themselves as a triathlete
■12% hated to ride alone and preferred group comraderie
■31% thought more than 50km riding was enough in one outing
■30% had never ridden on multiple long days (meaning they always took a day off the next day)
■Only 14% considered 100km’s of riding in one day to be the minimum effort required to be worth all the effort
