Weekend Break In NYC - How To See The Best Of New York In Two Days New York is an exciting city with plenty of museums to explore, bars to visit, restaurants to eat in and landmarks to marvel at. Skip the crowds and visit when it opens at 8am. 9am Escape the bustling city just a few blocks away and stroll through Central park. In the summer there’s entertainment performances to enjoy and in the winter, the renowned Wollman ice rink opens. 12pm Visit Grand Central station, another iconic landmark and an architectural wonder. You can even grab some lunch at the station’s Dining Concourse featuring over twenty food options to choose from including Shake Shack. 1pm A ten minute walk from Grand Central station will take you to Times Square where you can do some serious shopping and take advantage of excellent photo opportunities. 4pm Take a yellow taxi ride to the Museum Mile on Fifth Avenue to visit world-famous museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. 7pm Spend the evening in downtown Soho and take advantage of world-class dining and drinking opportunities.

Day 2 9am After grabbing a decent coffee in one of NYC’s many independent coffee stores, head to Brooklyn and cross the stunning Brooklyn Bridge, a famous landmark at 1,595ft with masonry towers and Gothic arches. Enjoy great views of Manhattan’s skyline as well as Governors Island.


10am Continue on to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade on the East River which allows even more breath-taking views of New York’s iconic landmarks. 11am Spend the afternoon at Coney island’s beach, Wonder Wheel Amusement Park and Luna Park which is home to the famous Cyclone roller coaster. 4pm Explore Dumbo and its cobblestone streets, converted warehouse buildings, trendy cafes and boutiques. 7pm When the sun sets, explore the hipster neighbourhood of Bushwick and its thriving arts and night scene. You’ll receive a great cultural insight here, away from the tourist crowds. A recommended restaurant is Roberta’s Pizzeria which is open until midnight, so after dinner drinks can be enjoyed.
