Even just saying the name ‘Mississippi’ conjures up images of romantic paddle steamers, the journeys of Mark Twain and centuries of history along this storied river. The Mississippi meanders a distance of 3,766 kms, flowing through 10 states and fascinating places like St Louis, Natchez, Baton Rouge, Memphis and New Orleans.
Viking offers a range of itineraries from the 15-day St Paul to New Orleans cruise to the nine-day cruises between the two legendary music cities of Memphis and New Orleans, and the eight-day journeys between St Paul and St Louis. All cruises are on the Viking Mississippi – a new state-of-the- art vessel purpose-built for this river. The ship, launched in 2022, carries 386 guests and features the elegant Scandinavian design and service Viking is known for.
Alaska On Ice
The sights you will see when cruising Alaska’s Inside Passage will render you speechless. Cruising on idyllic fjords, wildlife spotting, learning about the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian Alaska Native peoples on various shore excursions, and maybe even witnessing a glacier calving – definitely a one of a kind experience.
A wonderful way to see the Inside Passage is onboard Seven Seas Explorer. A seven-night cruise from Seward to Vancouver will be unforgettable. See the Hubbard Glacier, the stunning Mendenhall Glacier, the colourful city of Sitka, once the historic centre of Russia’s Alaskan empire, Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan – where you might be able to go bear watching at Neets Bay by floatplane – and ending in beautiful Vancouver.
