Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa underwent extensive refurbishments recently offering contemporary islandchic style accommodation and world-renowned first class Asian hospitality. The epitome of five star luxury, this resort lies on the pure white sandy beaches of Trou d’Eau Douce bay on the beautiful east coast of Mauritius. The spacious suites, pools, restaurants and main facilities of this exclusive paradise are located on the mainland but guests have access (10 minutes by boat) to two islands across the water from the resort: lle aux Cerfs, with its championship golf course (complimentary green fees per person per day) and Ilot Mangénie, a truly secluded, private retreat which also has its own restaurant. There’s also free green fees at nearby Anahita Golf Club. The stunningly redesigned rooms and suites are spacious with influences from the surrounding natural beauty and culture such as local artworks, marble floors and mango wood. All the rooms enjoy breathtaking uninterrupted views of the sparkling Indian Ocean through large bay windows. Influenced by the resort’s transformation there are plenty of contemporary and refreshing dining options from the world cuisine offerings at the main restaurant Le Bazar, to signature Kushi the Japanese and sushi restaurant overlooking the resort’s stunning lagoon. Guests can experience elegant and contemporary Indian recipes at Safran or enjoy lively nights with local and international DJ’s at Republik Beach Club & Grill. The property also offers an array of water-based activities such as the very best paddle boarding, snorkelling, parasailing and Hobie Cats in perfect surroundings (these are mainly based at Ile aux Cerfs). For land sports you can enjoy the four floodlit tennis courts and expert tennis coaching, a jogging track, volleyball, aqua-gym lessons, badminton and football. There’s a fitness gym, and CHI, The Spa, with an ayurvedic garden.
