Doppelganger competition

Experts claim that every person in the world has seven ‘doppelgangers*’ and in conjunction with this year’s fancy dress theme which is ‘LOOKALIKES’, Travel Centres is running a competition to find the most convincing doppelganger of any member of staff, working in a Travel Centresaffiliated agency.

The lucky winner will attend this year’s conference FREE OF CHARGE with ¤200 spending money and we will fly their doppelganger to join them** on November 11th when we celebrate our annual awards and gala dinner.

All you have to do to enter is to register yourself on the website www.twinstrangers.net; upload a recent photograph of yourself and pay a small fee of ¤1.99 in order to have your photo matched against 1,000,000 other photos already retained on the Twin Strangers database. Some amazing results have already been captured and we include below, links to two separate videos that document the experiences of not one but two Irish girls who found their doppelgangers online. How To Enter Send us a screenshot of you and your doppelganger showing the percentage similarity between your photo and that of your doppelganger match, as determined by the software algorithm on the TWIN STRANGERS website. All entries must be received not later than close of business on Friday, September 29th. The simplest way to take a screenshot is to press the ‘PrtScn’ button located at the top of your keyboard; open Microsoft Outlook or an alternative email software programme and place your cursor somewhere within the area where you type your message and then hold down the ‘Ctrl’ button while you press the ‘V’ key. The captured screenshot will be copied into your email.

*A doppleganger is a mysterious, exact double of a living person. It’s a German word that literally translates to “double walker” or “double goer”. A doppelganger isn’t someone who just resembles you, but is an exact double, right down to the way you walk, act, talk and dress. A friend or even a close relative who encounters your doppelganger will swear it was you, even though you can prove you were not in the location the double was sighted. ** Only applicable if your twin stranger resides within Europe. The winner will be deemed to be the entry that achieves the highest match rating on the Twin Strangers website. Entries should ideally achieve a match rating of not less than 60-65% but may be admitted to the competition if they are below this threshold percentage, at the discretion of the judges.
