We have a history that’s worth celebrating. One built from the can-do spirit of doers.

Our roots run deep, under factory floors engrained with a rich automotive and industrial heritage. Our people dreamed big and built bigger.

Now, it’s our innovative spirit that continues to lead the way to new possibilities. We are makers. We are authentic.

We are unmistakably Kokomo.

There’s the Kokomo you think you know, and there’s the Kokomo you’ve yet to discover. One of the most common souvenirs that visitors take home is pleasant surprises.

Kokomo has a rich history dating back to the birth of the automobile. Originating from a gas boom, the city transitioned into a landscape dominated by the automotive industry. Today, we stand as trailblazers at the forefront of cuttingedge technologies that are shaping the future of transportation.

But while our community is historic, it’s also vibrant and engaging. In Kokomo, you’ll find

THIS IS KOKOMO

Where history inspires the future

a wonderful fusion of art and history, familyfriendly events, an abundance of local flavors, a vibrant downtown and trails that make exploring both easy and fun.

While Kokomo may be the retail hub of the area with many of the major stores and restaurants you expect, there’s also a vibrant local scene of homegrown flavors and specialty shops.

Whether you’re craving an amazing cheeseburger, international cuisine or an evening of upscale dining, you’ll find it here. Be sure to leave room in your suitcase because you’ll not want to leave behind the treasures

you find at Kokomo’s many unique boutiques and shops.

From indoor and outdoor art galleries to a sculpture walk and public art, Kokomo’s art scene rivals those of much larger communities. Downtown, with its revitalized public spaces, is at the heart of that movement.

And lastly, you’ll find that the people here are known for their friendly and welcoming nature, making visitors feel at home even if they are far from their own.

This is Kokomo. Let us surprise you.

DOWNTOWN

So much to explore

Art and music are at the heart of the downtown experience. Whether you appreciate traditional or public art, it’s all here for you to explore. You’ll find live music at the outdoor amphitheater in Foster Park, the Riverwalk Amphitheater or nearby at the Rhum Academy of Music. Most weekends, you’ll also find live music at The Coterie along with handcrafted cocktails, creative burgers and more.

Downtown Kokomo is a haven for boutique shopping. Stylish shoppers will love Annmarie’s Boutique, Olive Tree Boutique and P.F. Hendricks. For a retro shopping experience, stop in at Kokomo Toys & Collectibles and pick up a piece of nostalgia. Be sure to visit Indiana’s largest record store & coffee shop, Black Wax Cafe, for classic records and cool drinks. Find classic and new comics at Comics Cubed and fill your bookshelves with used books from Chapter 2 Books.

With all the unique offerings, you’ll want more than just a taste of downtown Kokomo.

You’ll find upscale, chefinspired dining at Marble the Steakhouse or a bit of Irish fare at Cook McDoogal’s. Craving international flavors? Enjoy authentic Korean cuisine at SUTE Korean BBQ House and Sokuri. If you’re in the mood for pizza and breadsticks, get your fix at Oscar’s Pizza. Delicious dishes made with locally sourced ingredients? You have to try Radish Market & Café.

With all this and so much more to fall in love with in downtown Kokomo, you’ll need to stop in at MO Joe Coffee House for a shot of energy so that you can enjoy the many other experiences awaiting you throughout the community.

Downtown regularly plays host to community events and festivals. You can stay in the loop with the Visitors Bureau community calendar and never miss a moment of the fun!

The calendar includes local events, concerts, festivals, seasonal activities and more. You can find the calendar at VisitKokomo.org/calendar-ofevents.

Live music, festivals, local dining, eclectic nightlife and boutique shopping — you’ll find it all in beautiful downtown Kokomo.

Set against a backdrop of historic buildings and public art spaces, Kokomo’s revitalized downtown district is home to unique experiences and tastes.
