Fort Wayne’s Summertime Fun

Festivals and special events are another great reason to visit Fort Wayne this summer. They have a celebration planned for every weekend; not just in summer, but throughout the year. Kicking off July is the Three Rivers Festival, Fort Wayne’s favorite summer party since 1969 complete with family-friendly fun with arts, crafts, amusement rides, food vendors and more. It takes place July 8-16.

In August, mark your calendar for Fiesta Fort Wayne, a celebration of Latino and Hispanic culture. There will be live Latino music performances and traditional folkloric dancing August 13 from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. downtown at Headwaters Park. Also in August is Taste of the Arts, Downtown Fort Wayne’s premiere arts and food festival held at the Arts United Campus and surrounding fourblock area. Dates are August 27-28.

On September 10, the city celebrates locally crafted products from Indiana beers and ciders with their Brewed IN the Fort craft brews event, where you can also enjoy Fort Wayne food and entertainment.

One of the area’s top festivals takes place September 17-18. The Johnny Appleseed Festival celebrates the life and times of John Chapman, also known as Johnny Appleseed. Food, demonstrations, crafts, antiques, roving entertainment, children’s area, military reenactment, farmer’s market and more. The Johnny Appleseed festival is fun for the whole family.
