The Incas created huge circular agricultural terraces at Moray, built inside sink holes on a limestone plateau overlooking the UrubambaValley.Ithasbeensuggestedthatthey haveacosmologicalmeaning,buttheirfunction otherthanasanexperimentinagricultureremains a mystery. We continuetoSacsayhuaman,aspectacularhilltop fortress that overlooks the city of Cusco. The largeststonesusedinitsconstructionarenearly 8.5mhighandweigh360tons,fittingsoperfectly togetherthatasinglepieceofpaperwouldnotfit betweenthetwostones.
