KANGAROO ISLAND WILDERNESS TRAIL
In October 2016 the highly anticipated Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail opened. The 61km (40mi), five-day hike weaves its way through Flinders Chase National Park, which is renowned for its authentic wildlife encounters.
The number of hikers permitted on the Trail is limited at any given time, to protect the national park, and to ensure a genuine, relatively isolated, immersive experience. The Trail takes visitors on a rugged trek through dense eucalypt woodland, rivers, mallee landscapes, rugged coastlines, ancient rock formations, secluded bays, pioneer settlements and limestone caves. Walkers will spot native Australian wildlife on a daily basis and be treated to spectacular sunrises and sunsets in the peaceful serenity of the protected national park. Trailhopper is Adelaide’s only hop on, hop off wine touring service. The Japanese-inspired menu blends smoke, steam and fire – the ancient traditions of Japanese yakitori – and has drawn back Head Chef Adam Liston after his stints in Shanghai and Melbourne. Inside, you’ll find exposed brick, leather and moody lighting, creating a classic late night cigar bar vibe. Funnily enough, one of Therapy’s bartenders is a qualified psychologist. Enough said.

Hidden away on Adelaide’s Hyde Street, BadDog whiskey bar opened earlier this year on the low-down. With the tagline “If the light’s on, we’re home”, BadDog’s exterior consists of little more than an unmarked door. Inside, however, drinkers are treated to a cozy, blues-style bar with exposed lighting, leather booths and exposed concrete floors. It offers a great wine list, delicious cocktails and wonderful selection of local and imported beer.
