aspire. inspire. connect.

Composer, musician, audience—we collectively aspire to bring the symphonic experience to life. There is no other way to share this among us—we gather musicians, secure the score and fill the hall. Our lives are inspired by musical performance. Leaving the concert hall we are recharged and empowered— informed by our common humanity. The Traverse Symphony Orchestra has been recognized as an artistic jewel—an orchestra of depth, power and brilliance. We are here, ready to bring you a season of great musical experiences. Make the connection— let’s join together and bring great music to life.

Your Symphony brings season after season of great musical experiences, educational opportunities and cultural enrichment to the Grand Traverse region. This is made possible by the annual gifts of many loyal patrons. Please help us reach our annual campaign goal of $265,000 by August 31.

Accompanying the film, this unique presentation blends live music with the story on the big screen at the State Theatre, and gives audiences an entirely new way to experience this classic horror movie. education Anderson Wealth Management is partnering with the Traverse Symphony Orchestra to bring musical education experiences to people of all ages in our community. Several free family concerts are offered every season that let the entire family get up close and personal with symphonic music, the instruments and the musicians themselves. Children have the chance to listen to classical music, watch interactive slideshows and try out instruments in hands-on instrument petting zoos. Directed by Lynne Tobin, the Civic program welcomes string (violin, viola, cello and double bass) musicians of all ages and skills to two community string orchestras—Chamber Strings and Prelude Strings—that meet for weekly rehearsals and performances throughout the year.
