THE BRAND In Haus Press is a San Francisco based stationery brand. We believe that ink on paper is still the classiest way to communicate the thoughts that really matter. Our goal is to enhance self expression via the handwritten note, so we design simple functional pieces that speak to a customer seeking a connection with pen + paper. Our line is produced using age-old printing techniques on presses that have been in use for over a century. The first collection launched in 2010 bringing beautiful understated design to those who appreciate stylish stationery. Today, In Haus Press can be found in shops all over the world.

THE PAPER We prefer our Everyday Black ink above all other colors. It’s our signature color, and reflects the clean minimalist aesthetic that we’re known for. /// We print on Crane’s 100% cotton papers which are ideal for letterpress printing. Made with cotton fibers recovered from the cotton ginning and cotton-seed oil industries, Crane papers are truly tree-free. The inherently white cotton fibers require fewer chemicals for processing and produce less waste than other raw materials used for papermaking. Not only are these fibers environmentally responsible, they make a paper of superior quality. In addition, the repeatedly reusable cotton in Crane’s Lettra papers can be recycled with traditional paper.

LETTERPRESS PRINTING Letterpress printing is a technique of relief printing using a printing press. We compose and lock movable type into the bed of a printing press, ink, and press paper against it to transfer the ink from the type. Letterpress printing was the normal form of printing text from its invention by Johannes Gutenberg in the mid-15th century until the 19th century and remained in wide use for books and other uses until the second half of the 20th century. Letterpress printing remained the primary way to print and distribute information until offest printing was developed. More recently, letterpress printing has seen a revival in an artisnal form. The quality of our letterpress products is very important to us. Prior to delivery, each piece is inspected to assure it meets quality standards. Please note that due to the nature of letterpress printing, there may be slight variations between pieces including ink color and saturation, impression, and/or registration. All inks are hand mixed at the studio. This catalog offers an approximation of actual ink color. All single cards are packaged in a clear cellophane sleeve. Card sets are packaged in a clear box. Boxed sets may not be broken up. All products will have appropriate In Haus Press branding applied.
MINIMUM ORDER REQUIREMENTS Opening order minimum is $200. Reorder minimum is $100 (Reorders that are under the $100 minimum will incur a fee of $20). Domestic orders over $300 ship for free! Order minimum per design is: 6 per style for single cards and gift accessories (must be ordered in quantities of 6) and 3 per style for boxed sets, and social stationery items. TURNROUND TIME In Haus Press is a one-person company. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks until your order is ready to ship. If you need your order expedited, please let us know what your desired timeframe is, and we will do our best to accommodate you. SHIPPING Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. All shipping costs are charged at time of shipment and will be included on the final invoice. Most domestic orders are shipped via USPS Priority Post. International orders are shipped via USPS International Priority Post. Orders ship within 2-3 weeks of ordering. Request faster service if needed, and we will do our best to meet your needs.
PAPER Most of our products are printed on 100% cotton paper which makes for a beautiful printed impression. Cards and stationery are printed on Crane’s 110 lb. Lettra paper. RETURNS Returns are not accepted unless items arrive damaged and are reported within 10 days of delivery, in which a replacement/exchange will be provided. The buyer is required to email a request for exchange to orders@inhauspress.com Customer is responsible for return shipping fees. Packages must be shipped back via a carrier with package tracking associated with the return.
