On January 25th, 2021, Dwight Selby posted on Facebook offering his appointment time to someone who was a higher risk and had a preexisting condition. Carolyn Beck was running out of options to protect her 93-year old mother, Ruth Gras, from COVID-19, until she saw Dwight’s post. Since the county has made it possible to transfer appointments to any qualifying Florida resident, Dwight was able to gift Ruth hope, not just his appointment. Ruth has multiple sclerosis and would endure extreme complications if she contracted the virus.
