What a crazy year! 2020 brought many unexpected things but, one thing stays the same; our Network Members are here and ready to serve you more than ever. Throughout the year we had lock downs, shut downs, and event cancellations. It is more important now than ever to have a dream team of vendors working on your behalf. Who would have ever thought we would be social distancing and wearing masks to events?! Whether you are having a micro wedding, a full blown wedding with 200 people or something in between, we are here to serve you and work with you to make your wedding dreams come true, even despite a global pandemic. This issue we are showcasing different styles for different seasons as well as color palette inspiration. Make sure to check out our Dress Shoot for all the new and upcoming bridal trends. Our Beauty Shoot not only shows off hair and makeup looks but also innovative and trendy floral pieces. You aren’t going to want to miss a page! Having worked in the event industry myself for ten years, I have invaluable experience that I love sharing with you all. I have worked for a bridal dress salon, a florist, event venues and I have planned events for many years. Every page of this book is full of ideas and information I think is important for brides to know. On the next two pages, you will find a fun worksheet for you to use while planning your wedding and using this magazine as a planning tool. I have also set up free downloadable planning tools on the website for your use. If I were to give you any piece of advice after ten years of personally planning weddings, my advice would be – hire yourself a professional planner. It's fun to plan the small details yourself but I could write a book on unexpected things that have happened during the wedding planning process and on the actual wedding day. Trust me on this one; you need to hire a planner. Our hope for this issue is to bring you inspiration and to prompt your creativity when it comes to your wedding design and color palettes. The following pages are full of talented vendors who are ready to make your wedding dreams come true and your vision come to life. We are honored so many brides have shared their special moments with us and we look forward to seeing yours too! At the end of your planning journey, be sure to share your weddings with us for the opportunity to get featured! Make sure to check out our website at www.thebookofbeautifulweddings.com As Always, Happy Planning!

THE ART OF LETTERPRESS
We are excited to introduce you to January Letterpress. After one visit to their shop, we were in love! January Letterpress is a letterpress design and print
get just the right placement and impression into the
owner, Michelle to learn more about her business.
job. Once we're ready to start printing, we oil up the
studio located in downtown Waco. We interviewed Here is what she had to say:
“I first became interested in letterpress because it combines two of my loves: graphic design and mak-
ing things with my hands. I never wanted to be the graphic designer that just sat behind a computer
and never saw the final product. We purchased our
first letterpress in 2018 so that we would be able to walk the ideas in our head all the way into becoming physical products to hold in our hands.
Letterpress is a vintage style of printing where a deep
relief is left in the paper each time the machine closes and opens. It was the main form of printing for de-
cades until more modern printing methods came out
in the mid-1900s. Over time it fell out of fashion due
to the labor intensive nature. Letterpress is truly an
artform. To get each print, we start by mixing each ink
by hand for the perfect color, lining up our design to
paper and cutting the paper to size for each custom machine and as it opens and closes, we feed each piece of paper in one at a time to get printed. The tricky nuances that drove this type of printing out of
style are the exact reasons why we were drawn to it. It’s the ability to hear, smell, feel and see a piece of art
come to life. When we mail out our cards or deliver the invitations to a bride we are proud of what we’ve created.
In 2019 we moved our studio to downtown Waco and
opened a retail space to celebrate all things paper.
We sell greeting cards, desk accessories and gifts, many handmade by designers around the country just like us. Through both what we create ourselves and what we sell in our shop, we strive to make the simple moments in life more beautiful.” Stop by next time you are in Waco!

NON-TRADITIONAL
Wedding Palettes
26
TH E BOOK OF B E AU T IF U L W E D D INGS
Gone are the days of two flat-color wedding palettes. Modern-day wedding colors consist of multiple hues in a variety of tints, tones, and shades creating the dreamiest “I do’s” we have seen yet. There really are no hard fast rules when making your selection. Three to four main colors will yield the best results, but don’t be afraid to go all-out rainbow with six or eight. Choosing one color in a variety of tints or shades makes a dramatic impact albeit monochromatic is more difficult to pull off because venues typically don’t have colorful walls. If you are wanting to do something unique and non-traditional with color think about the following: CURRENT TRENDS Pantone comes in hot with the Color(s) of the Year each December. Typically there is only one color, but this year there are two. This year’s colors: Illuminating and Ultimate Gray. The sunny/rainy mix is magic together or apart. Illuminating is a bright, positive yellow while Ultimate Gray is a relaxing, familiar gray. Incorporating on-trend colors into your palette doesn’t mean you have to forego your favorites—just combine them for unexpected, awe-inspiring palettes never-before-seen on Pinterest. THE COLOR WHEEL Let’s take a quick walk down memory lane in case you’ve forgotten your middle school art class color wheel! That’s right. Here’s a recap of my favorite combos and vocabulary you should brush up on to reference how harmonious colors work together: HUE - There are twelve basic hues on the color wheel and each has a color family. TINT - A hue blended with white to lighten. Think of adding white to red to make pink. TONE - Blending with gray quiets or tones down a color. SHADE - A hue blended with black to darken it. Think of adding black to blue for navy. COMPLEMENTARY COLORS - Directly across from each other on the color wheel, this duo of hues always creates an eye-catching effect. Split-complementary colors create a "Y" on the color wheel and similarly make a marvelous trio. ANALOGOUS COLORS - Next to each other on the color wheel, these colors go in “rainbow order” and make for the most memorable ombré palettes you can imagine. TRIADIC COLORS - Triadic colors such as primary colors (red, yellow blue) and secondary colors (purple, orange, green) create a right triangle on the color wheel, and always create pristine palettes. Looking at four hues? Test tetradic color groups. SEASONAL COLORS Read me loud and clear here: Weddings in fall don’t have to include burgundy and orange, and December events don’t have to be silver, gold, red, and green. Sure they can if you love them, but hot pink is perfect every month too. Do what makes you happy. Table Talk There are a lot of details that go into setting up for your wedding. Here we talk about some basic table etiquette for your reception tables. Use this as a guide when hosting a dinner party, holiday meal or setting up for your wedding reception.
PLATES
Start with the plates. If you are using a charger, that goes down first and then put the dinner plate on top of the charger.
CHARGERS
We have seen all sorts of unique ideas for chargers. You can literally use anything. This is a place to add that extra glam or unique element to your place settings. Place the charger under your dinner plate.
FLATWARE
Place flatware from left to right and start on the left side first. Start with the salad fork and then the dinner fork goes next. If you are having fish, you will put a fish fork between those two. Note that fish forks and knives, should only be used if those courses will be served!
68
TH E BOOK OF B E AU T IF U L W E D D INGS
PLACECARDS
If you are using a seating chart, you will need placecards. They are small cards with your guest's name on them that are placed at the top middle of the placesetting. You can also place them in the middle of the plate. If you are feeling creative, think outside the box when creating your placecards. They do not have to be paper. You can write the guest names on anything you can dream up.
GLASSWARE
All glasses should be arranged from left to right: Water, wine, and champagne. They will be placed to the upper right side of the plate and charger.
NAPKIN & MENU
This is where you can get crafty and be slightly more flexible. There are many creative things you can do with the napkin placement and menu card to add that extra WOW to your place setting. Letting your guests know what they will be having for dinner is an appreciated gesture. Whether you use them in the center of the plate or tuck them into the napkin, your guests will love the extra thought. If you do not have a menu to share, use this as a space to tell your guests about the night's event. Agenda cards are the perfect touch to your table setting.
Starting immediately to the right of the charger and working your way to the right, place the dinner knife and soup spoon (only if you are having soup).

A lot of vendors waive their minimums for micro weddings to help you stay in budget. A micro wedding has a guest count of 20 and under so your budget can go a lot further. sic. This is also a great time to have your photo booth
live if you choose to have one since guests will have a lot of downtime.

portant things you will do. Until you have the venue booked, there are a lot of details you can not move
forward with. There are so many beautiful options to choose from. Here are some tips to finding your dream venue.

of the process. Until you know a guest count you will
