Some famous & beautiful Recommended Sections of the Great Wall China The Great Wall of China is a greatest tourist attraction in the world. It is the longest wall ever built which goes down the history. This wall was constructed by many Chinese dynasties over a long period of time. The most viewed portion of the Wall falls in and around Beijing and this section was mainly constructed during the Ming Dynasty.
Few most visited sections of the Great Wall 1) Badaling- this most popular section of The Great wall in Beijing is the best preserved and epitome of beauty and culture. You can enjoy the view of mountain scenery from here. It is the must see section of the Great Wall and is jam packed with tourists and visitors most of the time. You may enjoy the cable car and the Great Wall museum along with shopping and dining facility. 2) Mutianyu- Another beautiful section The Great wall in Beijing for sightseeing and hiking is the Mutianyu section with worth watching watch towers and fortresses. 3) Simatai- Recent restoration work around this region has made it more accessible and safe. This region has been restored to its original state and has been acknowledged as a World Heritage Site in 1987. 4) Gubeikou- Another beautiful section of the Great Waal is Gubeikou with its untouched Walls with no restoration or renovation done. This exudes the original beauty of the Great Wall. 5) Jinshanling- If you are adventurous and daring then you should go and explore the half restored and half wild region of Jinshanling. It is open all the year around and is very good for hiking.
6) Jiankou- this region lies in complete wilderness and is not open to public officially. But with help of local people you can go hiking and it is a best site if you are interested in photography. Its original and untouched beauty may be a little dangerous so one has to be careful in this area. 7) Huangyaguan- This portion of the great Wall is fully restored and has many farm houses and hotels around it. The Great Wall Marathon is held here every year.
8) Huanghuacheng – This region is famous for hiking and camping. Here some part of the wall is immersed in water and you can see a chestnut orchard at the foot of the Wall. 9) Juyongguan- This is the oldest section in Beijing and is surrounded by mountains. This pass has long been a military stronghold. This is a good place for sightseeing and hiking.
Facilities available This entire region is open almost throughout the year and for full day. You may go hiking, mountaineering and sightseeing in and around The Greatwall.
