The hollow lit up, where she sat was now an owl. Owlie stretched her wings, turned her head 180 degrees both ways, to admire her wingspan Feathers covered her face. Magpie cawed leaving the owl to her own devices. Owlie squinted through her feathers / this had been a bad one. What if the magpie came back to finish off the squabble? Owlie moved her wings away from her face, turning her head back around the same way as her toes. Inside of the trunk was still illuminated and her brown plumage fell slowly away. Magpie flew a short way off. Feathers white and blue switched to glitter and black tape glued to her skin.

Parrot paints their faces before going into Peacock’s Salon for the glitz and clamour. Stilt legs trussed up, Owlie and Magpie prepare for battle. Big P’s salon sits right there at the bottom of that hill. Anyone who dares, goes up there and is probably still dancing to the reflections on the wall off Peacock’s tail.

Crow with her smokers voice speaks to the street. night owls who stay up past curfew sit round and watch Crow croak her way to morning time

R gets out of bed her ankles crack backwards. A clock of her tongue / apricot skin / hair sprouts feathers gold, blue, and red on her chest. Robin whistles a hearty tune. With delicate primaries she picks up her cello and beats the four strings with a horse hair bow. Before fluttering away, to chirrup in another nest.

Pigeons. Not as dumb as they seem. An aviary of sheep. Bobbling heads checking out the front from side on. Gobble and coo reassurances to their flock.

A man, he walks past the iron twine keeping the trains in. Looking back to the road he hears a whimper. Twine blurs. His head stops spinning. He sees two fair maidens penned in with the roaring machines. They screech / SAVE ME / with yellow eyes and naked skin.

Moving to them fair maidens reach out their wings he touches their skin. His turns Green vine that pulls him through the twine. On the inside man peers through leafy brows at Naked swans staring back at him beaks cocked all the better to swipe through the shrubbery, Escape from the twine.
