ey You! My only mission is to make you, yes you, the most breathtaking bride your loved ones have ever seen! More importantly, that you’ve ever seen. I’m going to share with you a few principles from my style strategy sessions I craft for my clients. One thing before we start, I want you to read this article like you’re NOT a bride. Read that again. I want you to treat this and imagine. The sweetest thing my husband told me on my wedding night was, “Rachel this will not be the best night of your life. You will have so many more WINS in life.” And I say the same thing to you. Don’t treat this experience like this is the last time my life! I love fashion! I will recreate my bridal moment as many times as I want.

SO, LET’S GET TO IT!

1

Ask yourself how you want to FEEL on your love day. When I wake up, I ask myself, “how do I want to feel going to wear, the silhouette, etc. I want you to treat this day the same. How do you want to feel? Let it inform the designer (color, textures, silhouette) etc.

STYLE STRATEGY

Always CELEBRATE who you are. Not this time. Let’s celebrate who you are, not just as a woman but as a human. I am a black fashion stylist. It is my mission and duty to promote black designers. I choose to make a humanity statement with fashion. How will you choose to celebrate who you are?

You have to be in LOVE Let’s keep this one simple. My number one rule is, if you don’t like it, don’t wear it. Now, if you love it, SLAY it!

TRUST your designer Once you choose a designer who will allow you to exude pure joy on your special day, trust their design aesthetic. Come in with an idea but leave room for them to surprise you. Also, I beg you, do not take a photo of another’s designer’s work and ask them to make that exact dress. You have to let designers make their unique art.

If you allow these principles to guide you through your shopping experience, you will begin to develop a style strategy for yourself. That is a power no one can take from you. I call it your style SUPERPOWER. XOXO, RACHEL
