Empire Cheese is owned by local dairy farmers who elect a board of directors each year to run the factory. The cheese is made the traditional way, in openstyle vats which Empire says gives its cheese and curd a better flavour. No additives are used to boost production or preservatives added. It's all natural. The cheese is vacuum-packed in modern facilities to preserve its special flavour – a true mix of tradition and modern technology to give customers the best product possible.
Church-Key Brewing makes superior ales in a most unusual place, a former Methodist Church dating back to 1878. Founded in 2000, it is the only craft brewery in picturesque Northumberland County.
