General and subject specific GRE scores are required.

This new space was built from the ground up, with lab facilities designed to serve the specialized research needs of the department. The Psychology Department incorporates the following key resources: Sleep and Electrophysiology Laboratory A leading edge human electrophysiology lab that features three 64-channel Neuroscan systems for conducting sleep studies and brain-mapping studies.
Developmental Observation Laboratory A three-room suite equipped with digital cameras and observation mirrors that researchers can use for interviewing and/or observing individuals, couples and families.
Our programs offer opportunities to collaborate with experts in their fields, inspiring new understanding while pushing the boundaries of academic possibility and discovery.

As Trent University recognizes how vital it is for students to have proper funding to help them pursue their graduate work, Psychology M.Sc. / M.A. students receive a minimum of $13,228 per year for the two years of the program. Funding is generated through a number of sources, such as internal and external scholarships, GTAs and faculty research funds. Graduate students are also strongly encouraged to apply for external scholarships (NSERC, SSHRC, and OGS) during their last year of undergraduate studies as well as during their M.Sc./M.A. programs to help maximize available funds.

Admission Requirements We are looking for high-caliber, research-minded graduate students. Admissions will be based on the availability of appropriate faculty as supervisors, the strength of the applicant’s previous education and training, and the potential of the applicant’s proposed course of study and research project. To be considered for admission into the Psychology M.Sc. / M.A. program, applicants will normally have completed a B.A. or B.Sc. honours degree in Psychology from a recognized university. They must have an overall average of at least B+ (77%, GPA 3.3) in their last 2 years of full-time study and an average of A- (80%, GPA 3.7) in Psychology courses. General and subject specific GRE scores are required.
