Breast cancer. I was devastated. Faced with surgery, chemo, radiation and a series of tough and painful decisions, the anxiety was overwhelming. But with Eagle Ridge Hospital’s exceptional programs we knew we were in the best possible hands. Eagle Ridge is one of the only hospitals in Canada where mastectomy and breast reconstruction are performed together. The difficult decision was easier knowing I could have both done, right here at my local hospital by a top-notch team.

Anmore . Belcarra . Coquitlam . Port Coquitlam . Port Moody “This is my community - I was born and raised here and for the past 17 years, my family and I have called it our home. Eagle Ridge Hospital is my hospital for many important reasons. It is the place that cares for my family, friends and neighbours – all of the faces that make my community complete. It is also where I hang my professional hat every day, in the Emergency Department, where I am so proud to also care for those same faces and so many more. It is a joy and a privilege to donate; to give where I live.” ~ Dr. Mike Mostrenko Emergency Physician Eagle Ridge Hospital

Thank you for your support. Your dollars stay right here in our community, helping to save lives. A few of the many highlights so far in 2018: • 175 breast cancer survivors were treated in the Areola Tattoo Clinic; a clinic funded 100% by donors. • 15 children living in low income families received the gift of hearing through our Hearing for Kids Program. • Patients of the Tri-Cities Dialysis Unit received 19 new comfort stations and televisions to make their four hour treatments more comfortable. • 30 youth between 6 – 18 years of age who are dealing with mental health challenges were given access to Yoga classes to help with stress reduction and being mindful. • 75 residents living with mental health challenges at the Cottonwood, Connelly and Cypress Lodges participated in off-site day trips because of a Hopes and Dreams Fund set up by Phoenix Truck & Crane.

We received some amazing transformational gifts supporting the expansion of our Emergency Department, Cardiology and Community Outpatient Services: • Sharon Perry and her family donated $1,000,000 in memory of Bruce Kehler (husband, dad, papa) to ensure Cardiac services at Eagle Ridge Hospital grow and expand to meet the increasing cardiac needs of our community. • Eagle Ridge Hospital’s Auxiliary donated $250,000 to ensure there is more waiting room space for patients and their loved ones in what will be the newly expanded Emergency Department. • Port Moody Firefighters’ Charitable Society donated $150,000 to provide a much needed second resuscitation room in the soon to be expanded Emergency Department.
