Ag Days is a Mount Carmel summertime tradition. Ag Product Days started in 1961 with the Wabash County Chamber of Commerce and Wabash County Farm Bureau planning a two-day event at 4th & Market Street that featured steak dinners that were from beef raised in Wabash County. This was in conjunction with the State of Illinois promoting agriculture products. Another unique and big draw to the first events was the selling of raffle tickets for a chance to win half a beef from a cow raised in Wabash County. Over time, the event has expanded into a four-day street carnival. Today you will find many families going uptown in Mount Carmel to enjoy rides, lemon shakeups, pork burgers, food, friends, games, and many other fun events. Ag Days is the home of the infamous Chamber Lemon Shake-Up Booth! The Wabash County Chamber of Commerce invites members and other local groups to help operate booth each year. It really is the best Lemon Shake-Up around! In 2014, Strawberry Lemon Shake-Ups were added to the booth, and they are a big hit. The booth is located at the original Ag Days location, at 4th and Market Street, and opens each day at 11 a.m.

S AT U R D AY 8:30 P. M . Moneka Fullup and Shawn Storckman will be on the Ag Days stage at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2. Originally from Mt. Carmel, Moneka Fullop currently resides in Princeton, Indiana. She has played acoustic guitar, and performed vocals since she was 8 years old. Taught to play by a school nun during recess, Moneka developed a genuine love of music, and has performed instrumental and vocal music for crowds ever since. Playing and singing throughout the greater Tristate area, she has become a popular entertainer at venues such as pubs, restaurants, vineyards, private parties and festivals. Moneka describes her style as “rocking acoustic.” She plays a large variety of cover songs and genres from classic rock to pop, classic country, blues and pop country — so there is something for everybody! Shawn Storckman is a local musician with over 25 years of experience on the stage. He spent more than two decades as the bass player of The Smoke Rings, playing a number of renowned venues on the East Coast and in the Midwest. Since 2015, Shawn has been accompanying Fullop on acoustic guitar and vocals at a variety of local establishments and festivals.
