Pennington Ranch

L O C AT I O N Pennington Ranch is located approximately 13 miles north of Miami, Texas, in the eastern portion of Roberts County. Canadian, Texas, is approximately 14 miles to the east of the ranch.

ACCESS The north end of the ranch can be accessed via East South River Road. The southern portion can be accessed via Quarter Horse Road which then run along the east edge of the property.

W AT E R The ranch is watered by 14 windmills and three solar wells providing a great source of water to both livestock and wildlife on the ranch. There are two wells tied to the two homesites including the pens and traps. To capture runoff, several dams have been constructed strategically across the property.

HUNTING Pennington Ranch has favorable hunting conditions with the drastic elevation changes, plenty of brush cover and places to find water sources throughout the property. The ranch provides a conducive environment and attracts a good amount of wildlife, perfect for those looking for that secluded, getaway spot. Some unique hunting opportunities include the healthy population of aoudad sheep. Roberts County is known for its great deer hunting as well, including both mule and whitetail deer. Other game include quail, turkey, dove, along with wild hogs can also be found on the ranch.

IMPROVEMENTS The Pennington Ranch is considered to be well improved. Several miles of new five-strand barbed wire fences have recently been built across the property in addition to existing perimeter and cross fences. The ranch has two camps or homesites located on it. The camp referred to as “Headquarters” on the northern end of the ranch consists of two homes, a bunkhouse, a set of pens and several outbuildings. The “South Camp” has a recently renovated house, pens and some outbuildings. Several holding pens can also be found in strategic places on the ranch.
