ADDRESS BY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

YOUR CHOICE NE PARTNER As an established NE centre since 1996, SDC offers a wide range of exciting and engaging curriculum-based programmes for students from primary to post-secondary levels. SDC strives to enhance our programmes and improve customer service to meet schools’ changing needs through creativity and innovation; reinventing our existing programmes as well as developing new ones. Adopting a student-centric approach and providing an authentic learning environment as our priority, SDC encourages our students to learn through both individual and collaborative sharing such as game and inquiry-based lessons, group work and personal reflections. Working closely with MOE, educators and NE partners, SDC aims to promote discussions as well as provide resources on NE-related issues through our exhibitions and programmes. In support of values-driven education, students will be encouraged to reflect on how they can be active citizens in their daily lives, such as being advocates for Total Defence, SGSecure, racial harmony as well as standing up for our nation (National Day) and celebrating international friendship. SDC further supports school and cluster events such as staff retreats, team-building activities, National Day Observance Ceremonies. Together with educators and NE partners, we want to nurture in our students a steely confidence and a strong commitment to contribute to Singapore’s future.
