Moneeka Sawyer Cover Story

"Goals without action are just dreams. So, go out there, take action, and create the life your heart deeply desires!" ~Moneeka Sawyer I’m Moneeka Sawyer, and I’m known as the Blissful Millionaire. I’ve made my wealth in real estate and have created a system to make it blissful. The “blissful way” provides a deep sense of joy and contentment with emotional resilience and emotional mastery. Why is this important? Warren Buffet says, “If you can’t control your emotions, you can’t control your money.” Emotional mastery, or living in your bliss, is key to creating long-term wealth. Running your real estate business blissfully will lead to success and joy in your life instead of stressing and burning you out. This has been my path and now I’m on a mission to empower as many women as I can to build their own wealth blissfully. I want to give them the freedom to do the things in life they really want to do and create the life their hearts deeply desire. I am so excited to announce the very first Real Estate Investing for Women Summit which will be held in mid-March, 2020! This will be the first real estate event focused on supporting women to build wealth through real estate blissfully. Women deal with different issues than men and the real estate investing world is so male dominated. I wanted to create a way for women to teach, learn, and support each other to become financially independent. We’re creating an opportunity to network with other like-minded women who are seeking the same things, and to develop relationships that will help us all to invest more and create more wealth. All of us have resources we can share. Through this network we can combine resources so we all succeed together. I’m so excited to be creating this platform to elevate

women’s financial success. To find out more about the summit go to https://blissfulinvestor.com/events In 2008 I bought the home of my dreams. I’d worked hard for years building my net worth and I felt like now I could splurge and get myself the home I really wanted. I spent a million dollars on it. It was just like I just got my barbie dream house! Then SNAP! Just like that the market tanked, and within 6 months I’d lost more than 50% of the value of my home. I would sit at my computer each morning and look up the house value on zillow, and each day I would watch the price go down. I felt a deep gnawing hole in the pit of my belly that I couldn’t shake. Suddenly my dream had become my nightmare. I remember laying in the fetal position in bed for several days. I was so scared. Was the bank going to call my loan because we were so under water? Would I be homeless? But my biggest fear was my husband. We’d bought this place for me, against his better judgement and now look at what happened. I knew he loved me, but was this unforgiveable? What was going to happen to me? How had this happened to me? Successful real estate investor. Rational business woman. How had I not seen this coming? As I lay there in bed one morning, I heard my Dad’s voice in my head. I remembered an evening long ago when my dad told me about an article he’d read by Warren Buffet. And he said, “if you can’t control your emotions, you can’t control your money.” In that moment, I sat up and rubbed my eyes. This was my salvation. I knew how to manage my emotions. This was the ultimate test. Could I do it in these desperate times? I thought to myself “Moneeka, you don’t lose money until you sell.” We were still enjoying living in this home, all I needed to do was ride out this storm in the market. I could make that choice! Then I got news that my husband needed to get a new job and we needed to move. I could have done what others had done in this situation. Choose to sell this anchor around my neck and cut my losses. But instead I looked at this rationally. All I had to do was hold on and wait. So, I chose to rent out my dream home, and because my husband had taken a pay cut, we had to move into a little dump we could afford in our new area. I fixed it up so it was livable and went about my life. Fast forward 9 years. The market had recovered, and we were able to move back to my dream home. By then the dump had gone up $500,000. And surprisingly my dream home had recovered and gone up an additional $500,000. Somehow, through the nightmare that was the 2008 economic crash, even though I had bought at the top of the market, I had made $1,000,000! Through this experience I really honed my own bliss techniques and practices. I also became

determined to help others who had suffered through this debacle. So many people lost their homes and had their lives ruined. I want to show people how to never have to experience that again. And better yet, how to create wealth and security for their future in a way that will be low stress and increase the joy and freedom in their lives. That’s what started me on the path I am on now. I want to help as many women as I can to actually take action and start investing in real estate for themselves, to build toward their financial freedom.

Adrian Jefferson Chofor

My name is Adrian Jefferson Chofor, I am a global mobility lifestyle expert helping people that want to live abroad and currently living abroad do so strategically and successfully. I am also a personal transformational strategist and speaker, helping those in my community to live their best lives. I had the privilege of co-authoring Step Forward and Shine! the third and final book in the Shine series and when I was presented the opportunity to write my story, I was inspired to do so because I thought about how when I was younger I wish I could have met a woman like myself that would have told me things were going to be alright. After prayerful consideration, I knew writing this book was something that I was called to do. I want the readers to know they can overcome obstacles, made stronger by the struggle, and love themselves for who they truly are, not what others may think of them. My book touches so many areas of my life, I would say this has broadened the range considerably. I delve into challenges I experienced as a teen that made poor choices, a twenty- something year old early in my career, a thirty something year old moving abroad and later having a difficult pregnancy. I share experiences that are universal and not age or gender specific, such as making major life changes in moving overseas or the power of forgiveness and its profound impact on my life and those of others. I would have to say, because of the subjects covered in my book, it’s difficult to narrow the audience down to only one demographic.

I feel like the sky is the limit, I also feel like now is the best time in society to be multifaceted.” ~ Dorian Bostic When asked about his challenges, Bostic said; “I have overcome many things. I am originally from South Carolina, but my family moved to Baltimore, Maryland when I was young. My initial stay in Baltimore was short lived. I then had to move to Charlotte, North Carolina for a while to live with my father. I then moved back to Baltimore permanently. My family dynamics were not ideal. After moving back to Baltimore my family dynamics changed forever. I was taken from my mother and placed in the foster care system of Maryland and remained there between the ages of 7 to 21 years old. Those years were the most challenging. There were nights I did not have food to eat and I suffered from homelessness. I am truly a walking blessing because now I stand independently figuring out my place in this world.” We asked Bostic what more would like he like to achieve in 2019/ or 2020; “As we are already in 2019, I would like to finish the semester strong. I would like to pass one of the hardest classes I have ever taken in my life, Quantitative Analysis. Also, I will like to win my second professional fight. Furthermore, I would like to build my boxing portfolio, stay employed, and grow as a human being. My overall goal is to be an inspiration to the world.” Tribute Magazine wishes Dorian Bostic continued success.
