I’m grateful I contacted you.!!!” Dr. Kimberly has over 15 years of experience working with parents and teens at schools and private institutions in Silicon Valley and beyond. She is also a #1 international best-selling author in multiple anthologies. Dr. Kimberly’s launching her newest book, Unstoppable Teens: A Parent and Teen Guide to Teen Empowerment, Fulfillment and Achievement and a podcast, Raising Unstoppable Teens in early 2020. Through individual counseling, group programs and various international media platforms, Dr. Kimberly nurtures teens to lead their lives according to their values and with an unstoppable mindset, so they stand in their voice and confidently achieve their dreams.
As a proud mother, Dr. Kimberly has guided her two daughters into a thriving adulthood. She lives in California with her fiancé, Robert, her beloved cat, Alice and Summer, her faithful pup. Overall, she is best known for helping parents and teens better understand each other, coaching teens to go from struggling to successful college students, and supporting parents with Raising Unstoppable Teens. My book, Unstoppable Teens: A Parent and Teen Guide to Teen Empowerment, Fulfillment and Achievement. Unstoppable Teens: A Parent and Teen Guide to Teen Empowerment, Fulfillment and Achievement is a groundbreaking guide for teens (and parents) to become their best, unstoppable selves through the teen years and beyond. If you are a parent, who wishes there was an owner’s manual for raising aware, healthy, responsible teens, then this is for you! The real power of this book is that you don’t have to do it alone. You and your teen can choose to team up on this exciting growth journey together. Based on science, developmental psychology, and broad clinical experience working with teens and parents, this remarkable book from Dr. Kimberly Schehrer is a practical guide for “teens and the parents who love them.” The guide is divided into two distinct sections, one for parents and one for teens. The topics are the same for each and include personal-growth gems like Purpose, Kindness, Self-Esteem, Communication, Perspective, and more. While the topics are parallel, the author expertly tailors the teaching for each, often inviting parent and teen to share but also respectfully knowing that a teen might choose to exert their burgeoning independence. The author’s sensitivity and respect for adolescents are what make this book so special. Either way, your shared experience will enhance your teen’s life as well as your own in priceless ways. Chock-full of information, interactive exercises, action steps, and real-life examples (relatable to teens and parents), this book also equips teens with the practical skills and strategies needed for success in school, in work, in relationships…and in life. This is a book you’ll want to have for yourself and a copy for your teen, as you’ll find that you will highlight passages, dog-ear pages, journal, retake the quizzes, and refer to it again and again. To help you not only survive but thrive during the adolescent years, this is the owner’s manual parents— and teens—have been searching for! https://afi4me.com/unstoppable-teens-book/ I rate my personal success by my ability to support each parent and their teen in overcoming the biggest issues they’re stuck or stopped by. Specifically, the top three reasons parents come to me are: 1) Their teen is struggling in school and their grades have plummeted. 2) They want their teen to be more competitive to get into college. 3) They are concerned with their teen’s self-esteem, anxiety and how they are constantly battling with their teen.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked with teens using different methodologies. I have put all the best practices into a proven Unstoppable You Model which I share with the world in my Unstoppable Teens book https://afi4me.com/unstoppable-teens-book/. Also, I leverage this breakthrough model in my individual counseling and group coaching programs. As one of my clients said, “Before working with Kimberly, my GPA (Grade Point Average) was a 2.5 and after three months of working with her, My GPA is a 3.89. I never felt I would be eligible to go to a UC (University of California), but now I’m eligible. I’m also planning to go to graduate school, which I never thought was possible.” The Unstoppable You Model is the basis from which I work to achieve results with my teen clients. Let’s take a deeper look at how this model successfully addresses parents’ biggest concerns: 1)
Improving Grades: Grades slipping are usually an indication of an underlying issue(s). Following the Unstoppable You Model, grades improve and self-esteem is elevated. Students transform like, let’s call him, ‘Jake.’ Jake was failing classes and his self-concept was that he was “stupid.” With increased self-esteem and customized study strategies, his grades improved. Within six months, Jake made the Honor Roll.
2)
Increasing Competitiveness: Within the Unstoppable You Model, students learn competitive study skills, determine their preferred learning style, and apply time management skills, selfadvocacy, and leadership skills to the most pressing issues in their life. Another teen client said, “My time management skills and organization impressed my interviewer so much that I stood out from the other candidates and got hired for the job!” From my experience, if employers are impressed, it’s more likely that college admittance will be impressed too. Accordingly, it was a double win for this teen!
3) Bettering Parent/Teen Relationships: I’ve helped parents go from battling with their teen to teaming up their teen on projects they are passionate about. One of my teen clients wasn’t motivated about exploring possible career paths. Through my strength’s assessment, I helped him discover several passions, and then, hone in on setting specific goals around his favorite one. He is now creating a documentary on surfing with his father. They are traveling to Tokyo and New York to pitch investors. This has turned into a father-son project and neither one of them saw it coming. They have a more peaceful and fun relationship now than struggling and worrying about grades. I am declaring the year 2020 to be the year for the Unstoppable Teen Movement! I’m committed to empowering teens to be their best selves, improve their grades, discover their purpose, and be Unstoppable, heartfelt leaders.
Specifically, I’m inviting teens and their parents to: 1. Read my new book -- Unstoppable Teens: A Parent and Teen Guide to Teen Empowerment, Fulfillment and Achievement https://afi4me.com/unstoppable-teens-book/ -- and discuss the interactive exercises with each other. This empowering book takes my 15 years of experience and condenses it to a simple, worldclass model, which supports your teen with achieving whatever is most important to them this year. 2. Listen to my podcast, Raising Unstoppable Teens, which can be seen on the Empowered Connections Channel. This is a weekly podcast where I interview various experts, who offer proven practices to support teens. I also showcase a teen’s exceptional achievement or inspirational story, so they have a platform for their voice to be heard and their accomplishments to be appreciated. 3. Schedule a FREE 30-minute Parent Breakthrough Session where you will receive at least one strategy to support your teen with one of their BIGGEST challenges. In what area is your teen most stuck or stopped? Let’s chat … I’d love to give you new ideas for helping your teen be Unstoppable! My 3 Tips to Overcome Obstacles are: 1. Have a strong WHY! If your why is strong enough it will keep you going when disappointments come. 2. Write down your goal and then try to think of every possible obstacle that could arise and how you will deal with them if they do. This way, you are prepared for any opposition that may come your way and you are emotionally prepared to handle them. 3. When setting any goal, always factor in that obstacles and roadblocks will appear from time to time but they don’t have to stop you. Just like driving from home to work, all lights will not be green. Waiting for or expecting conditions to be perfect before you get started is a sure way to never accomplish your goals. Accept that obstacles are certain and be ready to knock them down when they do come. “Success means something different to everyone. To me, success can either be a feeling or it can be something more measurable.” “Maybe you had a party to go to and you’ve been trying for days to find the right outfit to no avail. Then right before you have you looking, you find the perfect outfit and you were able to exhale. That feeling is the same feeling as reaching a professional goal or milestone in your life or winning money in a scratch off lottery ticket.” “Success is relative to each person’s individual goals so the accomplishments may be different but the feelings of pride and joy are almost always universal.”
“I started a home-based business with Mary Kay Cosmetics on January 25, 1993 and achieved the highest position in the company as an Independent National Sales Director on April 1, 2003. I hold the record of being the youngest black women to debut at the position in company history. My love for people and the Network Marketing Industry is where I got my start in public speaking and teaching success principles.” “I am currently the Worship Leader at Life Point Church of Jacksonville, founded by the late Pastor Lena Thompson and currently lead by Pastor Ervin Jones, Sr. Pastor. I have been a featured speaker at local Schools, Churches and Women's, and Business Conferences across the country.” “My passion is empowering women and sharing God’s love with others.” “On January 13, 2020 I officially retired from my 26-year career to build a family business with my husband Nate.” “The Life Is Rich Company teaches women, couples and families how to Live In Fullness Everyday in every of life.” “We offer a clear and specific plan to help people solve problems in the areas of health, finances and relationships while creating real residual income.”

As For Me and My House My 3 Tips to Overcome Obstacles 1. Recognize the difference between overcoming and surviving. “Overcoming is when you have effectively dealt with the emotional, mental and Spiritual stuff evoked and associated with the obstacle. Surviving means to continue to live or exist through the obstacle and/or after it ceases to be an obstacle.” 2. To be self-aware. “Recognize the obstacle for what it is, a hindrance, a re-direction, a deterrence, etc. Do not make it out to be someone else’s issue.” “Understand and accept its role in your life you can make the necessary adjustments and move forward with understanding its purpose and strategies developing a plan of action to overcome it.” 3. Be committed to the process. “Don’t run or hide from it. Don’t allow yourself to be easily distracted. Be intentional and move/act with purpose as you successfully traverse each step necessary to overcome the obstacle before you.” “Remember to give yourself permission to face everything the obstacle throws at you boldly, honestly and courageously; Even if it hurts and you want to give up and/or in remain committed, intentional and focused.” “This process will differ based upon the obstacle which means the steps taken to overcome each obstacle must be unique to the obstacle before you.”
What Success mean to me. “Success is the achievement/accomplishment of a desired vision and/or identified goals.” “True success includes the people he/she has shared the developed tools with to equip them in achieving their desired vision and/or identified goals. Kelly Halley Co-author Spotlight As For Me and My House Tell me 3 tips to overcome obstacles: Determine whether the obstacle is something within your realm of control or responsibility. Not every obstacle is something that we can control. The same is true in regards to our responsibility to manage. If it is within my control, I pray and ask for guidance. It not, I pray for peace and put it in God’s hands. I often recite to myself the Serenity prayer - God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. If it’s a matter of not knowing. I seek out education whether through reading, YouTube, Google, an expert, another person. I recognize it is not always necessary to reinvent the wheel. We can learn from the experiences and wisdom of others. What is initially perceived as an obstacle may not be an obstacle. Sometimes we need to take a step back or step away to gain a different perspective on the situation. How we perceive things is influenced by our past or our current state of mind. We must learn to look at thinks objectively. Seeking out the advice of others through someone else’s eyes. Also looking at an obstacle as an opportunity, a rod hump and not a road block. What does success mean to you? Success to me is really simple. It means that I am living my life in purpose and on purpose. We each were born with divine purpose. Our responsibility is to seek out our purpose and then to act out/fulfill, live out our purpose. When this is accomplished then this means we have achieved the level of success that was divinely orchestrated for us. The plumb line of my success is measured against living a life of divine purpose.
