How to Change your Health with Small Steps By Teresa Howard The hardest part of changing your health is getting started. So why not start with small steps and change. One of the easiest ways is to choose to make small changes daily. Every day that you make good choices , it puts you one step closer to better health. Start by increasing your water intake. You should drink 8 glasses daily. Sounds like a lot! But if you break it down into doable steps it is so easy! When you get up; drink a glass before you eat breakfast. As you go out the door grab a bottle of water for the road. Around 10 am drink another glass. Have water with your lunch and you are half way there! Now grab a bottle for your 3pm snack and one for the road trip home. Have one with dinner! Almost done! Have one as you relax in the evening and you have completed your goal! Now do it every day for 30 days and it will become a habit. Now you made one change to reach your goal of better health, choose another one to add to your foundation of good health. A good one is to start exercising. An easy way to implement this one is to walk. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park further away when you go shopping. Walk at lunch. You can start or end your day with a walk. Does not matter; just get moving. It will make such a difference in your mobility and weight loss. So get up and start today! Now that you have made the decision to make small steps you are on the road to better health. You can continue to make good decisions and choices and you will see results in your health. You will not regret the decision to get started!

Networking Tips By Stacie Flowers Build the relationship Building a relationship with the people you meet is crucial when attending any type of networking event. They are a huge asset to have to continue receiving business and referrals in the future. Strive to get to know the people your meet personally and not just what their business is. Take an interest in them, find out if they are married, have children, or like to travel. If possible, try and find something you have in common with them and work on building a trusting relationship. Be prepared to read the room or group Some networking events are all business and the format is to only talk about business with each other. I call this “Speed Networking”. You will want to have your 20 to 30 second “elevator” speech prepared. Include who you are, what you do and who you serve. Make it interesting and leave them wanting to find out more about you and what you offer. This will keep their interest and make them search you out to follow up with you later to find out more information. Be ready to take quick notes on who you met and want to connect with after the meeting. Tip: When you are in a hurry, fold down the corners of their business cards to remind yourself who you want to follow up with later and how. Each corner of the card can mean something different. Other networking events are more relaxed and personal. This is when you want to listen more and talk less. People like to be heard and feel special. When you show an interest and show them they are important and you care, then you have made a forever friend who will want to help you succeed. This means referrals for you. Keep in Contact When you make great connections, you want to keep them and make sure you are the one at the top of their mind when they or someone they know needs your service or product. Consider sending a note in the mail to say it was nice meeting them makes you stand out from someone who only sends an e-mail or sends nothing at all. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy yourself.

Younger Looking Skin By Laura Henry-Pugh Throughout your life your skin is constantly changing. In your 30’s, the natural process of exfoliating begins to slow down and can leave your skin looking dull. In your 40’s, sun damage from your younger years begins to show; freckles, age spots, and uneven skin tone will be more noticeable. In your 50’s, this is when gravity takes hold, causing your skin to sag, become thinner and more fragile. Because of this wonderful cycle of aging, you need to know how to take care of your skin to slow down the process. Take care of your skin in the same way you would take care of your body. First and foremost, stay hydrated by drinking lots of water every day. The recommend amount of water daily, simply take your weight and divide it by 2. The number will be how many ounces of water you should drink daily. Exercise is not only great for your body, but exercise also infuses skin with oxygen and nutrients needed to produce collagen. When outside, no matter what season it is, use sunscreen. Sun is the biggest culprit which causes skin damage, ages skin faster, and will cause skin cancer. Use sunscreen even on cloudy days; the sun’s rays do come through and can easily burn you. Another way to have younger looking skin is to have a good skincare regiment. Wash your face twice a day. Once in the morning to remove any night time products you use and to prepare your skin for makeup. At night, wash your face to remove bacteria, dirt, and makeup. After you suds up, always moisturize no matter what skin type you have. Starting in your 30's, it is recommended to use anti-aging products to slow down the process of wrinkles and fine lines. After all you cannot stop the aging process, but you can age gracefully.

Don’t Give up on Bras! By Pam Russell 85% of women are wearing the wrong size bra? Are you one of them? How do you know? *When you raise your arm, does your bra go with it? *Is it so snug, you are whipping it off as soon as you get in the car after work? *Does your cup runneth over? *Is there enough room in your cup to add a few Kleenex or maybe a sock? *Do you spend half your day pulling your straps up? Those are all clues that you might be wearing a poorly fitting bra. A bra should rest comfortably against your chest with minimal movement. The cup should rest flat against your breast tissue without a gap, rolling of fabric, or bubbling over. Wearing the proper fitting bra is a great investment in your wardrobe. Clothing fits better and is more flattering when there are no unsightly bulges or wrinkles caused by a bad fit or an inferior bra. Put on your favorite bra and a snug fitting top. Now, look in the mirror. *Do you see a line where your cup should lie flat against your breast? *Do you have the dreaded 3rd and 4th boob where your breast tissue is overflowing the cup? *Where is the center of your breast? Is it closer to your waist or your shoulder? *Turn to the side. Are you sagging or bragging? *Are there unattractive lumps and bulges? If you said ‘yes’ to any of those, it is time for your foundation to be repaired! Essential Bodywear carries a great line of bras, panties, and shapers. You can experience this by having a fitting, hosting a home show or begin an uplifting career as a Bra Lady with me! For more information, visit my site at www.BraLadyPam.com or call 915-309-7109

What’s for dinner? For 80% of Americans, that is an overwhelming question at 4:00 pm. Creating a weekly meal plan is a habit that has served me for the past eight years. Now I want to take the mealtime madness out of your life. Even if you tried meal planning before and it didn’t work, don’t throw in the towel just yet! I will share with you what I have learned along the way that has been my saving grace. So what do you do? Life is not always going to go as planned. If we wait for like to go exactly the way we want it then we will be waiting a long time and will most likely be disappointed. Don’t throw the meal planning towel in just yet. There are more benefits than not. Families need meal planning even more when life gets busy. Create weekly menus that works for your family’s lifestyle and have an alternate plan when life throws you a curve ball. What are the benefits for meal planning? It saves on the budget - Eating out or frequently going to the grocery store can be very costly. It is flexible - Life can get off track, so meal planning can help when you get sick, last minute meetings at work, or kids sports have you running out the door for a 7:00 practice or game time. We can have a great meal without all the daily hands on preparation. A crock pot comes in a handy for those busy nights when not everyone can sit down at the dinner table together. I like to call this shift eating! It is healthier – It is proven meal planning you will naturally eat fewer calories, preservative, and processed foods because you are in control of the ingredients. Enjoy a greater variety of foods – Even the best cooks run out of creativity at the end of a long day. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of meal planning for your busy family. Make a family calendar with all your family’s activities Your weekly meal planning should work with your schedule. Most weekly meal plans fail because we plan meals that do not work with our schedules. Looking at your calendar a month at a glance will help plan accordingly. Now of course, schedules don’t always go as planned either. Things come up and times change all the time. This is when a backup plan comes in to play. Shopping for your meals I tell my clients one of the best ways to save money in meal planning is to shop their kitchen first. Many of us will have most of the condiments and canned goods already on hand. I also recommend to use the proteins (meats) they have in the freezer. You can always substitute your protein to use what you have on hand. For example, if a recipes calls for chicken and you have pork chops in the freezer then use the pork chops. You do not have to thaw out the meat before preparing the meal for a crock pot meal. Simply add the meat with the rest of the ingredients to a freezer bag and place it in the freezer. Prep meals ahead of time Another reason meal planning is a bust is because we run out of time to prepare the recipes. You have all the ingredients but not enough time during the week to cook so you wind up going through the fast food line on your way home from work. Start prepping your meals and cooking in bulk on the weekend. Cook your ground beef in crock pot and divide it up for the recipes you have on your menu for the week. Make sure to put two cups of cooked ground beef in freezer bag to have in the freezer for the tacos or spaghetti

nights. Place the meals in gallon size freezer bags for crock pot meals or casserole pans for oven meals so your family can eat homemade, nutritional meals during the week. C.O.S.T. (Cook Once Serve Twice) Use your leftovers to make a whole new meal. When I create a menu for my freezer meal workshops, I give a bonus recipe to prepare with the leftovers. The C.O.S.T. meal does not have to be eaten the next night. Simply put the leftovers in a gallon size freezer bag or casserole pan along with the rest of the ingredients to prepare the bonus recipe. Label the bags and place the meal in your freezer. Don’t be stuck with too many leftovers that become mystery meals in the back of the refrigerator! Planning for leftovers saves money and reduces food waste. Meal planning can be your best friend when it goes as planned. However, when life gets in the way try not to get frustrated. It happens every night, plan ahead and be ready to eat!!! Lisa Cowan

“It’s not WHAT you know, but WHO you know”. This is so true in business. What would you do without connections? It is the basics of a business. It’s as much, if not more, about the person as it is about the product. Connections are so important and have to be building gradually. The personal referrals are the most important. That someone can give you his or her personal recommendation is always valuable for your future client. Therefor it is important to let people know about your business and all your strength. That someone else has had a good experience with you and your business and will therefore probably be more comfortable working with you. A good connection also includes the opportunity to give a good referral. Even if you don’t know it at the time, that referral might be just what they needed to grow and expand their business. Connections are one of the corner stones in every business; without them you won’t be able to grow at all. Cilla Sande-Wichmann-- Harlequin Solutions
Connections to me mean building foundational relationship that brings transformation to all involved. (not a one sided relationship). Since the beginning of time the one thing that God has always tried to show us is that family and community builds a person as long as it is a joint thing. He speaks about two being better than one because when one is weak the other is strong and when one is cold the other makes warm. Family and the community are foundational relationship that nature who we are to become. Katrina Lokko 13
Good connections are paramount to anyone looking to advance personally or professionally. From the person you meet in the elevator at the doctor’s office, to the future employer you interview with. Everyone you meet knows someone you need to know. I make friends everywhere I go. From the grocery store, to networking events, to girls’ nights out I try to talk to someone new every time. I make it a point to get to know them on a social level, and then try to connect again to gain an introduction into their circle. It is important to make friends first, as the business will follow. If you come on too strong with your agenda, you can turn off interest in getting to know you as a person. This can also prevent introductions to others or referrals in the future. It is important to remember you are building relationships, so that as you get to know your new friends, you will begin to broaden your circle. Focusing on new working relationships with others, has always lead me to referrals and future connections. No one realizes how many people they really know. In my experience, most everyone is eager to make connections and when those connections are made, we tend refer those we genuinely like and have built a relationship with first. It’s not always about the business, as it is about having supporters of your business. Veronica Olivo I believe connections are very important for each of us to continue to grow and learn. When we open ourselves up to each other, we broaden our network with people who can provide resources, advice and most of all great friendship. When taking the extra time to get to know someone, we will know exactly how to help them and what referrals we can send their way. They will also be able to do the same for us. Stacie Flowers—Launch it. Connections are so important because they offer you useful advice and information. You can get the REAL story about people or situations. Many times your connections will be your protection and your biggest advocate. I know in my life, my connections have allowed me to avoid possible dangerous situations. On the flipside, my connections have gotten me to places that I don’t think I would have ever went. I think my connections have allowed me to meet people I would have never met. My goal for connections is to help challenge me to be better and do better. If you find yourself out of alignment and seeking advice, look to your connections. Everyone generally has as group of people who have a connection with you. It when you desire to be open about your wants and what you need help with is when your connections can be a great help you to. The first part of any good connection is to have a mutual benefit; we can’t always take from others without sharing. Connections are an incredible way to bounce ideas in front of prior to offering items for sale. Connections can be an automatic cheering squad for you as well as a part of a publicity team for your initiatives. In working with your connections, let people know that you appreciate them and you really want to help them as well. Connections can make your business life so much easier and really help you go to the next level. Sheryl Jones-Queen of Hearts www.TributeMagazine.net

How do you make great connections? Great Connections can help you grow your business and take it to the next level. You need connections in order to do business and chase your dreams and make them reality. Make a change today and tell yourself that you cannot do this alone, then get out and meet people with the intentions of just building relationships. Katrina Lokko You can start making connections by getting out and networking with others. Everywhere you go be a friendly person that people look for, when you are friendly people gravitate to you. Make a goal to meet 5 new people a day and decide that you will follow up with them. Sheryl Jones-Queen of Hearts Volunteer! Start with humble pie and give back so you can realize what is in front of you. So many, myself included, think that it come to you. I learned the hard way I had to get out beyond my comfort zone. When I did, I was just myself and when you saw is what you got. I have never looked back. Start with attending a networking event, social hour, or mastermind group. Just talk to people, be yourself, and help others when you can. Veronica Olivo Attend business mixers, networking events, social clubs and other events in your area. Be prepared and don’t be shy! Cilla Sande-Wichmann-- Harlequin Solutions Take the opportunity to talk to someone everywhere you go. The grocery store, nail salon and even while sitting in the doctor’s office are all examples of places you can easily meet new people. All you have to do is say hello and ask how their day is going. A great attitude and a smile will make an impression and people are more likely to continue the conversation with you. While making connections at events, I have met some amazing people who are now some of my closest friends. I have also been very fortunate to join forces with other entrepreneurs and we help each other grow our personal businesses and our joint ventures together. Stacie Flowers—Launch It.

Teen Scene! Hello! Welcome! This is the column just for you teens and your caring adults! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to you. My name is Aime and I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am here to empower you, and have you feeling amazing as you journey through these teenager years. I am also here to help your caring adults to gain insight of the world of being a teen, and what you maybe feeling, yet not willing to share. I know, like your caring adult I was once there (a teenager, sounds crazy I know, yet we were there). Experienced bullying, dating violence, and not believing in myself. I always want to know what you are up to, your questions, your thoughts. Know that you are not alone. There are many others out there in the world like you who maybe feeling uneasy, nervous, and even scared of something you are going through. Reach out, this is safe space to talk about hard stuff. Write to me: aime@inchbyinchempowerment.com This month is all about connections. How many connections do you make a day? And no I do not mean on Facebook, Instagram, Vine, or SnapChat. Real, in person connections. When you greet your friends in school, how do you do it? Do you smile and wave? Or do you give each other a high five, or a hug maybe? Those are all kinds of connections. And they are important. Having a circle of friends who take you as you are during your Jr. High, and Sr. High will help you in so many areas. They are your friends sometimes till you are your parent’s age. I have a friend who I met when I was not even in school yet. We have stayed connected for a long time. According to her parents, we became friends because in ballet class at age 4 I was the only girl who did not laugh at her Minnie Mouse tutu. When was the last time you had a true connection with your parents, or a coach, or teacher? Did you look into their eyes? Here’s a practice I invite you to do. When you connect with your friends, family, or teachers look at them in the eyes, smile even at them, they will most likely return the smile. How do you feel? Write and tell me your experience.

Five Love Languages With Valentine’s Day coming up it is important to know the love languages. Not everyone speaks the same language when it comes to love. If you know the five love languages and which one your loved ones need it is easier to give them what they need and desire. The first language is words of affirmation. Some people require you to tell them how you feel. They need to hear the words and need you to say them out loud. They receive your love through the words you say and you need to be able to say them and tell them how you feel. The second language is quality time. Some people need you to spend time with them and no amount of words or money will change that. They need the time with you. They need to do things together and spend quality time with you. So carve out some time for your loved ones. The third language is receiving gifts. Some people need you to give them things to show love. Small tokens of how much they mean to you. This does not have to be expensive gifts. It could be handmade tokens. A carving, a homemade card, a homemade meal are great examples of gifts to give. The fourth language is acts of service. Some people require acts of service. Small acts that show how much you care for that person and to speak their love language. Filling the gas tank for her, making the bed, cleaning the kitchen, opening the door, all of these are small acts of service. The fifth language is physical touch. Some people require physical touch. They need you to hold their hand, kiss them, pat them on the back, and create that physical contact. They need this daily to know how much you care for them. No matter the love language, use his article as a guide to tell and show them how you feel today. We are not promised tomorrow so do not put it off another day!

Boxes of Love By Stacie Flowers It was less than a year ago when I met a woman who inspired me and made me realize anything is possible when you want it bad enough and have faith. Her name is Angela Love Foster. She has had a past many of us will never understand or even survive, but she did survive and I know why. She has made drastic changes in her life and now does everything in her power to help those who need it the most. Giving back and helping others is her passion. Boxes of Love is in Terrell, Texas and it is a small store that provides hygiene items, diapers, clothes and just about anything someone may need, all for FREE. This is possible due to Angela’s hard work and the generous donations. Angela will also listen and share the love of Jesus with anyone interested. The store is only open on Tuesdays from noon to 5:00 pm and three of the most requested items are Fabuloso cleaning liquid , baby and adult diapers . To find out more about Boxes of Love and how you can help, contact Angela at 469-344-0077 or visit https://www.facebook.com/boxesofloveterrell. Donations can also be sent to P.O. Box 2066 Terrell, TX 75160

Non-Profits Giving Back to our Communities
A foundation dedicated to assisting those in need during their journey and with the challenges they and their families are expecting. It was started in memory of my mother who lost her battle with cancer 4 1/2 years ago. My mother was a pay it forward person and gave that quality to me. Our Mission: To make a difference!! Heavenly Mimi provides assistance from $100- $500 for medical and personal expenses . Allison Byrd-Haley Founder/ Executive Director I am 40 years young! My husband and I have 5 kids’ ages from 21 to 9. I live in Grand Prairie. I am blessed to be in medical sales for the past 10 years. My life goal is to have Heavenly Mimi be my LEGACY! For more information on this non-profit please visit heavenlymimi.org
Take Action with Teresa was started to help support Survivors of Domestic Violence. Our Mission is to help support Survivors navigate the first year after they leave their abusers. Without support victims return to their abusive situation. The reason I (Teresa Howard) started Take Action with Teresa is because I am a Survivor of Domestic Violence and I wanted to fill the Gap that I found in Services for Survivors! You can make a difference in Survivors lives and the lives of their children. Domestic Violence touches all of our lives and is everyone’s problem.
