New Creation Bible Study, Week 13, scriptures “Awake to Righteousness” 1 Corinthians 15:34a, KJV - Awake to righteousness, and sin not; Romans 4:4-5, NASB - Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. 5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness, 2 Corinthians 5:21, AMPC - For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness]. John 17:24, KJV - Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. John 17:1, KJV - These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: John 15:9, AMPC - I have loved you, [just] as the Father has loved Me; abide in My love [continue in His love with Me]. 2 Corinthians 3:18, AKJV - But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. Psalm 145:5-7, NKJV - I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty,And on Your wondrous works. 6 Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts,And I will declare Your greatness.7 They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness,And shall sing of Your righteousness. Galatians 2:20-21, KJV - I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. 2 Timothy 2:15, AKJV - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Galatians 1:6, EXB - I am amazed that you are so quickly turning away from [deserting; forsaking] God [the one] who called you by his grace given through Christ [the grace of Christ], and are believing something different than the Good News [a different Gospel]. 2 Peter 1:3-4, PHILLIPS - He has by his own action given us everything that is necessary for living the truly good life, in allowing us to know the one who has called us to him, through his own glorious goodness. It is through him that God’s greatest and most precious promises have become available to us men, making it possible for you to escape the inevitable disintegration that lust produces in the world and to share in God’s essential nature. 2 Peter 1:2-3, AMPC - May grace (God’s favor) and peace (which is perfect well-being, all necessary good, all spiritual prosperity, and freedom from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts) be multiplied to you in [the full, personal, [precise, and correct] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 3 For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue). 2 Timothy 3:16a, NASB - All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness… Isaiah 40:31, NLT - But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Galatians 6:1, NLT - Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. 2 Timothy 4:2, NLT - Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. 2 Thessalonians 3:15, NLT - Don’t think of them as enemies, but warn them as you would a brother or sister.

1 Corinthians 6:15-20, NLT - Don’t you realize that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body, which is part of Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never! 16 And don’t you realize that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say, “The two are united into one.”17 But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.18 Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. 19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. Song of Solomon 5:2, NLT - I slept, but my heart was awake, when I heard my lover knocking and calling:“Open to me, my treasure, my darling, my dove, my perfect one.My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.” Romans 6:4, NLT - For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Romans 6:6, NASB - knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; Romans 5:17, AMPC - For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 1 Thessalonians 5:5, AMPC - For you are all sons of light and sons of the day; we do not belong either to the night or to darkness. Ephesians 5:8, AMPC - For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light]. Romans 6:14, NASB - For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. 2 Corinthians 3:8-18, NLT - Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life? 9 If the old way, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new way, which makes us right with God!10 In fact, that first glory was not glorious at all compared with the overwhelming glory of the new way. 11 So if the old way, which has been replaced, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new, which remains forever!12 Since this new way gives us such confidence, we can be very bold. 13 We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away. 14 But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. 15 Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand.16 But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
