Our mission is to build an understanding and appreciation of the botanical world. Our vision is an inspired community who actively contributes to the sustainability of our world.

Congress Theme Preservation: Exploring and Adapting.

The theme underlines the need for botanic gardens to adapt in their environment and to the ever-changing needs of the community. This covers both the natural, cultivated, financial and political environment, and the strategies required to ensure the preservation of threatened species. How do we ensure proper connection with the community and their ongoing engagement? How do we inspire younger generations, friends and volunteers to gain their vital support - an integral part of all botanic gardens? How do we safeguard our commitment to botany, science and conservation, horticulture and education?
