Lots of us have been seeing clients and creating content beyond Trident Marketing HQ in recent months.
Mackenzie and Rosie headed to Bowsfield in Great Ellingham, Norfolk – taking stills and videos for its social media.
Chris oversaw the printing of the Agrii Journal, plus he headed to the Royal Norfolk Show with Simon on behalf of Hopkins Homes.
Carl, as usual, has been here, there and everywhere, particularly within the funeral sector with the NFE Show and SAIF Regional Meetings.
Not to mention the RAK Ceramics Design Hub activities for Clerkenwell Design Week… more on that later!
It was National Karaoke Day on 19th July, so we asked the team: what’s your ultimate karaoke song? Here are some of our favourites…
On Sunday 30th June, Carl and Victoria successfully completed the IRONMAN 70.3 event, which took place in Carl’s hometown of Bolton. Their children even did the IRONKIDS event the day before!
They did a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and 13.1 mile run. Previously, Carl had completed one IRONMAN and five half IRONMAN distances. For Victoria, this was her first (and last!) attempt. Carl completed the challenge in 6 hours and 6 minutes, and Victoria took 6 hours and 56 minutes.
They decided to take on this challenge as they are both fast approaching 40 years young and thought it would be a good way to mark it. Most importantly, they wanted to raise money for two amazing local cancer charities: Breast Friends and Sophie’s Stars.
There are many reasons why people don’t recycle. There’s confusion over what can be recycled, it’s inconvenient when it’s not collected by your local council and you have to travel somewhere specifically, and sometimes – in this busy world we live in – people just forget.
To make things easier at Trident, our Sustainability Manager initiated a crisp packet recycling scheme –popping the box right by the bin to remind us all. Crisp packets can’t currently be recycled by our local council, but we take them to a local supermarket that does!
We’ve been busy working up CGIs for various products by RAK Ceramics, from the RAK-Washington range to new accessories such as the RAK-Ingot niches. There’s so much to consider alongside aesthetics. Are the measurements and proportions accurate? Is the lighting natural or realistic? Does the angle showcase the products in the best way? We consider all this and more when creating interiors.
We recently updated the Bradnam Joinery brochure, adding new products, removing discontinued lines, and making sure everything was up to date. We also organised and managed the printing of the brochure. This was all in time for the National Funeral Exhibition in June, where our client was exhibiting.
Launching the new Marst Agri website was a real privilege. We designed and built the site, which features the new branding – also created by our team. The website includes e-commerce, with new and used machinery, as well as items from the country store – think clothing, footwear and accessories. Our favourite part of the website? The animated cogs on the homepage. Make sure you check it out!
Hopkins Homes had a stand at the Royal Norfolk Show in June and our Project Managers worked alongside them to achieve their goals. They managed the marquee, its installation and internal layout, plus collateral such as bunting, glassware and banners. We know how important events such as this are to our clients, so we really do pull out all the stops.
Thornwood Park is a collection of traditional three, four and five bedroom homes in an idyllic countryside setting in Thornwood, on the outskirts of Epping. We created two brochures for this development by Weston Homes: one celebrating the story of these homes, their specification and location, and the other featuring those all-important floorplans. The branding we created reflects the tranquil, scenic location.
Our team recently created an instructional video to accompany the Shelf & Rail “Nero” Base Kit, a contemporary and flexible storage solution – new for 2024. Our CGI Artist Filipe brought the product to life, whilst making sure that all visuals were clear for the consumer. The video was finalised, uploaded to YouTube and embedded onto the Shelf & Rail website, with additional signposting created to make them easy to find.
We’ve been working with Agrii for a number of months now, initially converting their printed journal into a microsite. After a couple of editions, Agrii asked us to redesign the print product too, which was wonderfully executed by our Senior Graphic Designer Elin. The new look is more impactful and engaging, with a better flow for readability. Here’s to the next edition!
Following a rebrand, we were thrilled to collaborate with this client on a reimagined website and brand-new brochure. They work well in tandem or as standalone selling tools for this Suffolk-based painting and decorating company. Both feature a number of case studies, reflecting the type of work carried out across the commercial, education and new build sectors. We look forward to continuing our work with the team at JC Decorations!
It was our pleasure once again to organise RAK Ceramics’ participation in Clerkenwell Design Week, from preparation right through to party clean-up.
RAK Ceramics was a headline sponsor of the event, which we arranged on their behalf. That included their sponsorship of the projects section, the Conversations at Clerkenwell talkspace and the registration points. Plus, there were floor tiles leading attendees to the RAK Ceramics Design Hub. We organised advertising at Farringdon tube station, the nearest stop to the event, with ribbon advertising on the escalators and large static boards. Any pre-event marketing was designed and produced by our team at Trident Marketing, including 2,000 leaflets that were handed out with welcome packs upon registration.
Clerkenwell Design Week ran from 20th to 22nd May this year. We manned the event, both at the Hub and at the talkspace, so visitors were greeted by a friendly face. Not forgetting security staff and a photographer to capture the goings-on.
As part of the sponsorship, a ceramics tour – hosted by Joe Simpson, the Founding Editor of Specifier’s Guide to Ceramic Tiles – began at the Design Hub, which included a delicious breakfast organised by us. In fact, we managed all the catering for this three-day event!
On the Tuesday afternoon, there was a Clay Sculpture & Dried Flower Arranging workshop, part of the ongoing Event Series. We designed the invitations and made sure the cocktails were flowing!
It all culminated in the highly-anticipated closing party, which this year had an Arabian Nights theme and a record-breaking number of visitors. Our staff hired props – think cushions, patterned rugs, glittery tablecloths, lanterns and flame machines – and hung swathes of material from the rafters. Audio equipment was hired and cocktails were concocted. We also organised entertainment with a band, stilt walkers and firebreathers.
We can’t wait to see what next year brings!

You may have heard that carousel posts perform better than static posts on Instagram – but why?
Firstly, let’s understand what a carousel post is. It allows users to share up to 20 photos or videos in a single, swipeable post. Why does this benefit you and your business? Because it provides a more dynamic and interactive way to tell a story, showcase products or share in-depth information – with you taking up more real estate on feeds as a result.
Better still, it leads to increased engagement in a completely organic way – simply by encouraging people to swipe, which many do out of curiosity. Because there’s more to consume, more time is spent on that post. Plus, it’s fairly common for carousel posts to appear in the feed more than once with a different slide displaying each time.
Instagram makes it reasonably obvious when a post is a carousel, but this can be enhanced further with some design magic. Think arrows, text that spans multiple images, numbered posts, and overlapping imagery.
Product showcases: display numerous products and add detail that wouldn’t be possible on a singular post.
Step-by-step guides: information is easier to digest on sequential slides, whether it’s a recipe or DIY tutorial.
Before-and-after transformations: these are particularly beneficial for home improvements and the fitness industry.
Photo dumps: this is the colloquial term for sharing a bunch of images in one fell swoop, such as your team’s highlights that month.
User-generated content: are you inundated with testimonials or visuals of people using your product? Display them together.
Timeline: showcase key moments and highlights across a specific timeline, perhaps to celebrate an anniversary.
Infographics: present statistics, infographics or data in an easy-to-read format.
Employee spotlights: posts of people often perform better, so why not show off your team?

Firefly powers generative AI features and is available across Adobe creative apps, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and its own web app. Recently, one of our graphic designers played with the Trident Marketing logo – using text prompts, uploading the logo, and applying visual references to get the right look. It’s certainly trial and error, with some questionable results along the way – proving that, as with all forms of AI, this doesn’t negate the need for a graphic designer or someone with oodles of creativity.
What Firefly does do is allow complex artwork to be produced with a few clicks, as opposed to hours, meaning budget-friendly marketing for your business.
