A project to bring people to the river
Design theory and Practice | Personal project Location: River Rea, Birmingham City, UK | 2019 Software: Autocad, Illustrator, Sketchup, Photoshop, Digimap, Adobe drawing, Adobe drawing See more: https://issuu.com/trinh.tran/docs/river_ rea_online Design brief: creating a healthy place, where promote people health and well-being by engaging them with nature. To achieve that, the design must deal with three main challenges that are - To attach people to come - To make place for them - To improve water quality and river habitat. By turning these challenges into opportunities, the initiative idea aims to completely transform the river appearance from a narrow, hidden, and forgotten river into a widen riverfront with vertical space, continuing trail and to be the “reborn city’s landmark.

Come back to nature Thesis design | Personal project Location: Lea Marston Lakes, Birmingham City, UK | 2019 Software: Autocad, Illustrator, Sketchup, Photoshop, Lumion, Adobe sketching, Physical 3D model. Seemore: https://issuu.com/trinh.tran/docs/kid_play_ground_work_book The idea came from the different kinds of natural elements and environment, namely “water, sand, and upland forest” to provide diverse experience and connections with nature for children while playing on the site. Besides that, each zone has been targeted with a specific colour, finishing materials and plants. The proposal was also taken into account the typology of the site - “ mountain adventure project” as well as facilitating activities inside and outside (passing through the site).

A combination of distinctive landscape character spring, summer, autumn and winter gives a unique sense of ambience that helps to revitalize the residents. The landscape design incorporated different colors, plant palette and landscape materials to represent seasonal changes of the leaves of different seasons. In addition, the transitional change of the season is shown via the transitional zone with the mixed use of materials and planting selection. As such, the designs of living space, green landscape and modern facilities are brought to absolute harmony in order to create a symphony of nature. 39
