Fylde Coast £50 Challenge information book

Page 1

Hello,

I am delighted to announce that The Fylde Coast £50 Challenge is back for 2022. The challenge is an opportunity for local businesses that care for our community to really make a difference. To come together and collectively raise as much as they possibly can for the hospice, funding hospice care and services that improve the lives of local people - those who need end of life care at the hospital, in the community or in their own homes. After a difficult couple of years for you, for the hospice and for everyone in our community - this year, we hope to make the challenge bigger and better than ever before! But mostly, personally, I look forward to seeing local businesses engaging with their teams, putting their fundraising hats on and having some much needed fun!

Many thanks,

Janet

Corporate Partnership Manager

It’s been a challenging couple of years but despite the challenges of pandemic, it gave us the opportunity to review our services and make exciting changes in how we meet the growing needs of all who need us in a way that suits them.

It costs £9.2million

each year to keep Trinity Hospice running and to offer outstanding palliative care and support services to the local community.

More than £5million of this is raised by our supporters. The Fylde Coast £50 Challenge plays an important role in our fundraising mission. Since launching in 2013, it has raised more than £332,500 - enough to run our entire Linden Centre, supporting people who have lost loved ones, for a whole year! But it is down to each £50 Challenge participant, raising as much as they possibly can, for making such an incredible difference.

Trinity cares

Here at Trinity Hospice, and our dedicated children’s hospice Brian House, we have been supporting our community across the Fylde coast for more than 35 years. We are a hospice without walls, providing outstanding expert care in the hospice, in hospital, residential care homes and in patients own homes; wherever they are, whatever the hour. It is only thanks to our community – people like you taking part in the Fylde Coast £50 Challenge, that we are able to touch the lives of more than 8,000 people each year.

Why should your business consider taking part? Engage your team The Fylde Coast £50 Challenge is a fantastic opportunity for colleagues to get together and come up with plenty of fun and imaginative ways to support local hospice care. Work together and see real results as your raise vital funds to support our charity.

Improve morale We know many teams are either still

working remotely or just getting back into the office environment after a challenging couple of years. The Fylde Coast £50 Challenge is the perfect opportunity to come together to share ideas and celebrate success.

Networking

You can get everyone connected to your business involved in your challenge – from colleagues and customers to suppliers and family and friends. The more people who know about your challenge, the more you’ll raise for our charity.

Quite simply

It’s fun!

Since 2013, the amazing companies and businesses who take part in our £50 Challenge have told us how much they have enjoyed the addition of a fundraising challenge to their work. Not only is it a chance for creativity to shine, you get to see the difference you are making to those who need hospice care across the Fylde coast.

Last year’s challenge raised an amazing £48,422... “At Partner Plus Media we recognise the vital work that Trinity Hospice does for our community and we are honoured to be able to help in any way we can. Taking part in fundraising events, especially the £50 Challenge, means that we can involve the whole team in our efforts, whilst also putting the “fun” into fundraising.”

“Our passion here at Grunty’s is to enrich children’s lives by giving them the best experiences we can. We support Brian House by doing the £50 Challenge as we know the money we raise goes a long way to supporting their children and families so they can enjoy the amazing experiences that Brian House offers.”

27 businesses took part in 2021 Should you choose to take part this year, whatever your team’s fundraising target, your support will make a lasting difference to the lives oflocal people...

Blossom’s boutique raised £1,832 which is enough to provide 17 children with a bereavement support session after the loss of a loved one.

Trinity spend’s £520 each year on toilet rolls! That provides enough toilet rolls to stretch from Lytham to Fleetwood five and a half times.

Curry’s Blackpool raised £18,000 which is enough to fund a nurse in the hospital team for 9 months. “Simply put, the Fylde Coast £50 Challenge means we get the opportunity to give back to an incredible cause whilst driving colleague engagement and having fun - why wouldn’t we want to do it?!”

Does your team have what it takes to turn £50 into much more for your local hospice? Double it, triple it or turn it into thousands... Whatever you raise, you’ll help Trinity Hospice to provide vital care and support free of charge to those who need it across Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde.

It’s easy to get involved, simply register as soon as possible and once the challenge begins on the 1st May, you’ll have four months to raise as much money as you can. How you raise your money and hit your target is completely up to you – we want this to be fun for you and your team!
