Trinity Athletics provides a finely tuned mix of intercollegiate, club, intramural, and rec sports so that all students may realize their full potential as students and athletes. For more than 25 years, Outdoor Recreation (O-Rec) has led groups of Trinity students on adventures across the country, crawling among cacti, paddling scenic rivers, and climbing high mountains. Whether you are an expert mountaineer or you have never been inside a tent, we have trips for you. Every semester, O-Rec plans exciting trips in and around Texas, helping students relieve stress by leaving campus and experiencing the outdoors.

Trinity’s student-athletes and the Department of since the 2014–15 Athletics have been sporting season, when Trinity became an official school.

Women’s Basketball won the 2003 NCAA III Championship, has won more than 20 games in every full season since 2012-13, and returned to the NCAA III Quarterfinal in 2022.

Baseball won the 2016 NCAA Division III Championship with a 44-7 record, which set a school record for wins at Trinity.

Men’s Soccer won the 2003 NCAA Division III National Championship and holds the NCAA record for most consecutive seasons in the NCAA Playoffs.

Women’s Tennis won the 2000 NCAA Division III Championship and has won 5 USTA National Collegiate Championships.

Tiger Network is Trinity University’s livestreaming network, covering athletics and special events for a worldwide audience. The Tiger Network showcases #TigerPride in full HD with real-time replays, commentary, and on-demand options.

Alumni Men’s Basketball returned to the NCAA Championship tournament in 2022, collecting the program’s 12th 20-win season in program history.

The Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams have combined to make more than 21 appearances in the NCAA Championships. Men’s and Women’s Golf have combined to win several SCAC Championships and have made 6 appearances in the NCAA Playoffs, including the women’s first-ever appearance in 2022.

More than 30 football players have earned All-America honors, and Trinity reached the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl– the NCAA Division III Championship game–in 2002.

Women’s Soccer was the NCAA Division III runner-up in 2013 and has reached the NCAA Playoffs more than 20 times in program history. Softball won 7 Conference Championships and reached the NCAA Playoffs 6 times in a span of 9 years after joining the SCAC in 1999.

Swimming & Diving boasts 4 individual NCAA Division III National Champions: Stephen Culberson in the 2014 100-yard freestyle, Lindsay Martin in the 2010 1-meter diving, Hayley Emerick in the 2010 3-meter diving, and Ruth Hahn in the 2012 3-meter diving.

Men’s Tennis won the 2000 NCAA Division III Championship and the 2015 ITA Indoor National Championship, and has claimed 6 individual national titles in Division III. Volleyball was the NCAA Division III runner-up in 1999 and has advanced to the NCAA Playoffs more than 20 times in school history.

Track & Field boasts 6 individual NCAA Division III Champions: Christyn Schumann in the 2004 indoor high jump, the 2004 outdoor high jump, the 2005 outdoor high jump, and the 2006 outdoor high jump; and Todd Wildman in the 2009 and 2010 indoor pentathlon.

Daniel Henkes ‘19 has been launching rockets since he was a teenager. Named NASA’s most outstanding intern in 2018, he’s now launching his career. The former cross country varsity player completed a full stint in NASA’s prestigious Pathways Intern Employment Program after graduation and is well on his way to becoming a real rocket scientist.
