One of the great pleasures of my role, and there are many, is being able to slip the following phrase into a conversation, ‘Did you know they are an alum of Trinity?’ I get this incredible sense of pride in being able to boast about the achievements of our community. For 150 years, our alumni have made incredible contributions to society, and we can attribute much of this to the generosity of our donors – people like you – across many generations. Thank you for having the foresight to ensure the College continues to produce wonderful contributors to our world. Scott Charles (TC 1986) Executive Director of the Foundation Deputy Warden and Director of Advancement

Trinity College celebrates its 150th year sesquicentenary in 2022 and this creates an opportunity for us to reflect on the strengths and resilience of this remarkable institution. Not least of which is the generosity of our community – and this has been particularly apparent during the challenges in the last few years. Philanthropy is a key pillar of a successful institution. The philanthropy of Trinity College has given us the ability to continue to progress our programs and implement our strategies with a view to assisting our students to imagine and achieve a better world. Trinity College has had a huge impact on my life. As a fresher, I went in not knowing what was in store for me, and left with an expanded world view, increased confidence, a great group of friends, and a community that I know will be with me forever. It is my hope that many more students get to experience what I did, so I am very happy to donate to the College. Helping to shape the next generation of leaders is most certainly a worthy cause. James Murray (TC 1990)

Patrick Bates Senior Student 2022

My three years at Trinity have really proven to me just how strong the community is. Despite lockdowns and disruptions to our academic, sporting, cultural and social lives – the students at Trinity were resilient, supportive, and always managed to have plenty of fun! I consider myself very lucky to have had access to the unique programs and facilities at Trinity throughout such uncertain times and realise that this did not happen by accident. I want to say a huge thank you to all of the donors who continue to support us – because of you, I know 2022 will be a year to remember at Trinity!

Back in 2012, a very nice student called us from Trinity. Before we knew it, we were in a lively discussion around Trinity experiences past and present. We knew then it was time to start contributing to Trinity’s future. It’s had such a positive impact on our lives and, now that we are in a position to do so, we are pleased to make a small contribution to this continuing. Nick Freeman (TC 1986)
