IN HONOR OF THEIR 50TH REUNION, THE CLASS OF 1960 RAISES $30,000 AS A GIFT TO TRINITY! The Class of 1960 wanted to "give back" to their alma mater. Therefore, early in the reunion planning process they decided they would like to have the elevator in the new Health and Fitness Center named in their honor. The "Leadership Circle" worked diligently petitioning their classmates to donate.

50th Reunion Their reunion weekend was fantastic! The cocktail party on Friday night was a great success. It was held at the Carlton Hotel where the class Liturgy cover by Donna Beard Pope ‘60 immediately began reconnecting. On Saturday morning, the class loved the tours of the school which were given by current National Honor Society members. The reunion liturgy was incredibly moving. The liturgy, which was planned by the reunion committee, included a presentation of roses with the name of each deceased classmate. The final event was a wonderful luncheon at Oak Park Country Club where Sr. Michelle was presented (and totally surprised) with the fantastic donation from this generous class! The reunion committee planned every aspect of this memorable occasion perfectly! Please see page 11 for more pictures.

Who helped you to understand, to have a caring, sensitive heart toward others, toward the world, toward yourself? Who empowered you to know yourself, to believe in yourself, even when you didn't? What gifts do you treasure to this day that were nurtured within the Trinity experience? Who loved you in the midst of your mistakes, in the midst of your "creative behavior"? Who gave you courage to be courageous and take risks beyond your comfort zone as well as to make choices and be responsible for them? I hope a smile, a tear, a feeling of awe comes over you as you reflect on the people who answer these questions for you. FROM THE ALUMNAE DIRECTOR Marigayle Watts Harrington ‘78 Dear Fellow Alumnae and Friends, After finishing my fifth "reunion season "at Trinity, I can honestly say I have been so fortunate to meet and get to know so many of our alumnae. Each reunion class is special and their experiences at Trinity are very unique. However, I have found that regardless of the year they graduated, the alumnae always reflect fondly about two things: the friendships they made at Trinity and the wonderful teachers that taught them. The joy of these friendships (old, new and renewed) are evident in all of the reunion pictures and the pictures of all of the special events Trinity hosts to keep our alumnae and friends connected. There is truly an event for everyone; from the reunions and gatherings to the scholarship golf classic to a 5k run, to a shopping night, to an Oktoberfest, to a Santa breakfast, there are SO many opportunities to get together! Please look at these events and the list of
upcoming events on the sidebar and make plans to come back to Trinity! It is the wonderful education that teachers at Trinity provided that is never forgotten by our alumnae. Regardless of how long ago they graduated, our alumnae fondly remember the teachers that profoundly influenced their lives. On pages 13 and 14 I have included pictures of the teachers and expressions that were mentioned the most in the "Trinity memory" section of the past five years reunion questionnaires. • Trinity students go to the Oak Park Arms twice weekly to play games with the senior residents. • Students participate in a special project developed for them by Gottlieb Hospital, the "patient development project". It involves spending time with patients in the hospital.
NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP COMMENDED STUDENT Trinity High School is proud to announce top honor student, Dana Dahhan of Elmwood Park, who was named a National Merit Commended Student in the 2011 National Merit Scholarship Program. Dana is a full IB student, accompanies the choir at all performances, a member of the National Honor Society and the National Italian Honor Society. Her plans are to attend either Harvard, The University of Chicago or Loyola and study bio-chemistry.
• Students volunteer at Camp Soar, a one-on-one opportunity to help children with developmental disabilities at a weeklong camp. • Many students participate in ASP (Appalachian Service Project), Habitat for Humanity, Peacebuilders Initiative and Catholic Heart work camps. All of these summer programs are designed to improve the living conditions in very poor areas in the U.S. • The Film Club viewed and critiqued the movie "Some Like It Hot" with the residents at the Oak Park Arms. • The Trinity community collected over 850 toys for the Catholic Charities Toy Drive at Christmas. They also collected a truck full of food for the Thanksgiving Food Drive. • The SAINT club members volunteer at the Animal Care League of Oak Park. • The Youth Ending Hunger Club collected hats, gloves and scarves for the area homeless. (picture B) • Trinity students help clean and serve at the Ronald McDonald House at Loyola Hospital. • Trinity students and faculty help St. Angela students with school projects and writing workshops. 2011 ILLINOIS STATE SCHOLARS Congratulations to this year's Illinois State Scholars! The Illinois State Scholars program recognizes Illinois High School students for outstanding academic achievement. This year’s Illinois State Scholars represent the best and the brightest out of over 250,000 graduating seniors in the state of Illinois. Selection is based on ACT test results and the student’s class rank at the end of their junion year. TRINITY’S FALL PRODUCTION BYE, BYE BIRDIE It was another musical block buster at Trinity this fall! Almost half of the student body participated in the production of Bye, Bye Birdie in late November. The performance, costumes, and set were fabulous.

TRINITY BLAZERS ANNOUNCE
THEIR NEW MASCOT AND FIGHT SONG
Trinity's sports teams do very well and many of the students complained that we did not have a mascot or a fight song to show our school spirit at athletic events. Our Student Activities Director, Mrs. Susie Bedell, could not agree more. In the spring of 2010 she asked the students to submit ideas for the mascot and to create a fight song which will be chanted at all of our athletic events and assemblies. Captain Blazer was named the new mascot and Samantha Sanchez '10 (pictured left) created the new Trinity fight song. During the first pep rally of the year (which recognized the Softball Team for placing second in state during the summer) the entire student body was given Trinity spirit shirts and was introduced to Captain Blazer. Sam Sanchez came back from DePaul University where she attends school for the introduction of the fight song she created for Trinity.

FROM THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT Christine Lee Bollettino ‘68 Greetings and Happy New Year! I know that you will enjoy the articles in this issue of The LINK! They truly illustrate a portion of the excellent academic and cocurricular activity evidenced each day. However, what these pictures may not completely convey is the high level of enthusiasm that abounds on a daily basis. For those of us at Trinity, January 8 -- or testing day, becomes our real "new year". This is the day of Archdiocesan testing and the results this year were once again very exciting and gratifying! The number of girls testing at Trinity was up 15% over last year and to date the highest number since the mid-80's! How exciting that we can share this timely news with you, our proud alumnae! So first we will celebrate and then plan-curriculum, staffing, and space, as we look forward to welcoming a larger freshman class and coordinating the effects of increased enrollment. Oh what a happy challenge! From a Development perspective, I want to thank all of our alumnae and friends who continually promote this premier single-gender education. Through your volunteer efforts and support Trinity is able to offer exceptional, college preparatory curricula that include the prestigious IB Program, tailored
specifically to meet the inquiring needs of fourteen to eighteen year olds. We are able to expose these young women to experiences outside their world and comfort zone and help them to learn so much more about themselves through their outreach and service to others. They are able to explore myriad careers and growth opportunities because of your belief and gifts to Trinity. As one wonderful donor recently related, "That's why we keep sending our money there!" On behalf of this solid, Dominican, faith-based institution, I implore you to keep us in your prayers and on your donation list. WELCOME BACK! We at Trinity, LOVE, when our alumnae come back to see their alma mater! We are very proud of our school and enjoy to meeting our alumnae and hearing all of their stories! We were lucky to have the following alumnae come back to 7574 West Division:
Anamarye Greene Holmes '39 from Prescott, AZ, and her husband Robert brought their family back to Chicago to celebrate her 88th birthday in September of 2010. The couple had not been back to this area since they were married. She visited her home in Maywood and showed her children the route she took riding her bike to Trinity every day. While in the area they visited the church they were married in and the Carlton Hotel where they had their reception. She truly enjoyed showing her family around Trinity.

Lori Johnson wanted to see the school her mother talked so much about. When a family wedding was planned in the Chicago area in October, Lori thought this would be a perfect opportunity. She sent an e-mail to Trinity asking for a tour and we willingly obliged. Rita Jean Hayes Anderson '44 loved experiencing Trinity again. The visit brought back many fond memories. Rita Jean was very impressed with Trinity's new health and fitness initiative.

Members of the Class of 1990 wanted to see Trinity and some of their former teachers. They made plans to come the Friday afternoon before their evening get together. The classmates loved the opportunity to talk to their former teachers and enjoyed seeing all the improvements that have taken place at their alma mater. The group was especially impressed with the Sister Michelle Germanson Athletic Facility as it was their first time to see it!

SCHOLARSHIP GOLF CLASSIC On Monday, August 30, 2010 we were blessed again with blue skies, warm temps and ready golfers at the 6th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing at River Forest Country Club. Led by a seasoned committee, the foursomes had a great time enjoying a buffet lunch, the eighteen hole shotgun, beat the pro, cocktails and dinner. They were pleased to meet the Class of 2014 scholarship recipients who sold raffle tickets and eloquently spoke to our guests. A most awesome thank you is sent to all who participated in this tremendously significant event. As a result of your support, over thirty Trinity students received scholarship dollars. Thank you! The next Golf Classic will be held on Monday,

REUNION 2010 HONORING CLASSES ENDING IN “0” OR 5” WALL OF HONOR AWARD RECIPIENTS 2010 ALUMNAE LEADERSHIP AWARD Mary Prendergast '60 is the recipient of the Leadership Award. After graduation from Trinity Mary went on to receive a degree in education at Marquette University. Mary taught at five Chicago Public Schools in the Cabrini Green neighborhood. Her demonstration of respect and professionalism for her students and colleagues caught the attention of Arthur Shay who featured Mary in his book, "What it is like to be a teacher". Mary changed professions and went into real estate in the early 70's. Mary became a leader in this field as well. During her real estate career, Mary served on the Board of Directors for Trinity for six years. Mary was the president of the board when the Sister Michelle Germanson Athletic Facility was built. Mary was also in the "Leadership Circle" of the Class of 1960 and was instrumental in raising the $30,000.00 gift.
ALUMNAE SERVICE AWARD Eileen Day Galvin '55 is the recipient of the Alumnae Service Award. Eileen has shown her outstanding commitment to serve others. Eileen is a living example in her personal commitment to her Catholic identity. She is active in the pro-life movement and is involved in providing food for the homeless. Eileen is dedicated to her classmates and her alma mater. She works tirelessly to keep her classmates together and involved in Trinity. While she and her husband raised their six daughters, Eileen taught full time and successfully completed a graduate degree in education. Her accomplishments served to advance her skills in her career as an elementary educator and enriched her image as a model of dedication and commitment to her family, colleagues, students and friends.
YOUNG ALUMNAE AWARD Julie Honcharevich '05 is the well-deserved recipient of the Young Alumnae award. Julie graduated from Trinity's International Baccalaureate program in 2005. Julie continued her education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where she graduated in aerospace engineering in 2009. While at UIUC she became the President of Women in Aerospace to assist young women with finding their strengths in the aerospace field. Upon graduation, Julie accepted a job from United Space Alliance, a contractor for NASA. Currently she is training to become a flight controller in Mission Control Center-Houston for the International Space Station. As a flight controller she will develop, test, operate and manage the communication, command, and data systems on board the space station. Julie would like to recognize and thank the staff, faculty, and her classmates at Trinity for the encouragement, guidance and support they gave her to pursue her dreams. She stated that her four years allowed her to develop a loud strong voice that helped her to excel in her classes at the University of Illinois. However, the most important lesson she took away from Trinity is one she uses everyday at NASA -- the importance of building strong friendships based on trust and understanding. Such a relationship is key between the crew on board and mission control.

CLASS OF 1970 Caroline Naprstek Evans has not been able to attend a reunion since she left Trinity 40 years ago. She was able to attend this reunion, and she took it upon herself to plan the class reunion from IDAHO!! Caroline did a fantastic job finding missing classmates and informing all of the reunion. There was a tremendous turnout. The class attended the Mass and continued the party at Francesca Fiore on Madison Street. Based on the laughing and noise level at the luncheon, a great time was had by all! A special thank you to Caroline for taking on this task!

THE 5K FOR FITNESS “BUILDING

CULTURE

STRENGTH”
What better way to advertise the benefits of fitness than to lead by example? On a brisk and slightly overcast October morning, over 310 runners and walkers showed their fortitude and support of the Health & Fitness Initiative by enthusiastically participating in the first THS 5K Run-Walk. Instrumental in its success were Co-Chairs Eileen Dolan, Gary Townsend and Maura Carey Gates ‘84, THS parents (pictured above), who worked with Chris Bollettino, VP of Institutional Advancement, to inaugurate this event. Over twenty-five volunteers added their expertise to ensure the safety and success of this fun run. A group of twenty members of the Class of 1988 surprised and celebrated Colleen Bransfield ‘88 for her 40th birthday! Some of them are pictured bottom left. This venue is a fun, healthy way to get together with alumnae and friends. Post race, the entourage of students, faculty, family members, past parents, alumnae, neighbors and friends of THS gathered to grab bagels, fruit and water, and applaud the fastest runners and walkers. LADIES NITE OUT & BOUTIQUE
On October 7th the Trinity High School Mother's Club hosted a shopping extravaganza! Over 200 women came and enjoyed the camaraderie and shopping. Twenty five vendors sold many handcrafted items as well as gourmet foods to the very interested shoppers. The timing was perfect for buying gifts for the upcoming holidays. This event was such a success…it will be held again in the Fall of 2011!
OKTOBERFEST Over 260 alumnae, parents, past parents and friends alike had a wonderful time at Trinity's Oktoberfest on October 22! Music, dancing, a raffle, a heads and tails game and of course, wonderful German fare were enjoyed by all. This fun party was held in the Sister Michelle Germanson Athletic Facility and because of the tremendous success, this event is being planned for the Fall of 2011! BREAKFAST WITH SANTA A wonderful tradition began this past Christmas season! Three hundred alumnae, friends and their children enjoyed a festive morning with Santa. Tracy Hollenbach Ewell '88 thought this would be a great event and she was certainly right! This party would not have been as successful as it was without the help of Tracy and the fifty-five Trinity students (10% of the student body!) TRINITY IMPACTS THE LIFE OF A STUDENT BY
DARLENE DEVINCENT ‘80 One day my older sister, Debi , at 13 years old, sat my parents down and with much surprise announced that she wanted to attend Trinity High School. The plan was for both of us to go to the local public school. Debi laid out her case that Trinity offered a great education, a supportive community and a smaller space to accommodate her walking challenges from cerebral palsy. As was so often, her argument and determination won the day; however, even Debi could not have predicted what a wise and life changing choice this would be.
Trinity gave Debi the opportunity to truly spread her wings and grow into a confident young woman. She put all her energy into supporting the school that was committed to her education and spiritual growth every day for 4 years until her graduation in 1978. Debi was elected freshman class president and Student Council secretary as a junior. These are just a couple of her high school accomplishments. But Trinity's best gift to both of us was the love for learning, a life-long journey. This life journey began as adopted children in a loving family. Debi wrote about her journey in the Cradle newsletter.

We were referred to the 1960's "god" of pediatric neurology, and waited six months for the appointment and diagnosis: mild cerebral palsy. I weighed only three pounds at birth. This was due to a post-birth trauma, typical of premature babies. I had also been a twin, but my twin died on the day of our birth. What an ordeal for a birthmother -- two babies, one death and a premature daughter. She had to be a wonderful woman.

A SPECIAL CONNECTION TO CRADLE COUSINS I don't know if the Cradle is still using the term "Cradle Cousins," but my caseworker always referred to Cradle babies as "cousins." Whether you find your family or not, we always have each other. I love being adopted. It is a wonderful thing to have been the beneficiary of so much love. My caseworker was Mae Golin. Mom and Dad named me "Deborah May" so that I would feel a tie to Miss Golin and a sense of family. My parents admittedly were not the richest or even the smartest two people who ever came to The Cradle to ask for a baby. They were undeniably the finest. They taught me to be proud of the fact that I was loved twice, once by the biological mom whose unselfish choice made it possible for them to become parents, and then loved the second time by The Cradle, who cared enough to place me in the home of my adoptive parents. Mom and Dad knew shortly after they brought me home that something was wrong, because although I was attentive, smart, animated and expressive, my legs were limp. After examining me, the family doctor determined that I had what he called "some form of paralysis." My parents' hearts broke -- for me, not for themselves. Although the adoption was not final, I was already a daughter, a grandchild, a niece, a cousin and a godchild, and a neighborhood favorite. Everyone cared. Everyone worried. Everyone was willing to step in to help. This

My mother had an invalid, bedridden father and an aunt who acquired polio as a young child. She grew up helping her aunt. We walked to my grandma's daily, so that mom could visit grandpa and sometimes feed him lunch. Our extended family embraced these issues. My half-leg braces and physical therapy were ornaments and games, never burdens to anyone on either side of my family. My handicap turned out to be a "non-issue." It was tough when I was a young child, but with the love of my family, the care of physicians, and the nurturing of nuns at Trinity High School, I found the beauty within myself to marry, the courage to divorce, and the time to pursue and finish my education at Harvard Law School, where I graduated at the age of fifty and look forward to practicing law. During my marriage I gave birth to three beautiful children. Mary Catherine Rose is almost 29 years old, Rosemarie Ann is 27, and Neil Peter is 24. The greatest joy of my life was naming my children after my parents. My sister Darlene, Class of 1980, was adopted from The Cradle in 1962, she married and had two sons. The younger became deaf as a result of meningitis, further proving that our family is designated by God as a place for children with special needs. We lost Mom 13 years ago to breast cancer. The street where my Dad still lives, where Miss Golin visited, is now named in honor of my mother. I have been blessed with my first grandchild. Her name is Sophia, after my birthmother, whom I have never met. Every one of my Cradle Cousins is fortunate, but none more fortunate than I have been.

WHAT’S NEWS WITH YOU?
I thought I would be able to lead off with something happy this time, after the death of my husband Rodney last summer, but it seems misfortune wasn't through with the Colohan girls just yet. On December 22, my sister, Kathy Colohan Novy '65, lost her husband of 22 years, David Novy. David was a wonderful husband to Kathy, as well as a much-loved stepfather to her daughter, Meghan McDonough. He was also a very dear friend of mine and Rodney's…I actually introduced David to Kathy! He loved parties and formal occasions of all kinds - especially Bal Dominique! - and as one of his friends put it, "arrived at heaven's gate attired in black tie." His jovial presence will be very much missed. Our alums have sent me all kinds of interesting news this time, so here it goes:

Marjorie Viola McLain '50 enjoys volunteering for the Northern Illinois Food Bank in St. Charles, IL. She has many fond memories of her Trinity days: "I loved just being a student at Trinity…good teachers, good friends, good times."
Anne Ramsden Oberbeck '50 lives in Summit, IL, and has two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
Joanne Dring Willkomm '50 wasn't able to come to the reunion, "but you're all in my prayers," she writes from Salem, WI. Joanne is the mother of ten, grandmother of fourteen and greatgrandmother of six.
Mary Carol Kunan Wilsey '50 has been living in North Carolina for 26 years. Mary Carol is active in church ministries and volunteers at the local library and food bank. "My husband and I still enjoy traveling." Patricia Burns O'Connor '50 and husband Richard have been living in Pinehurst, NC, for the past 13 years. They have been married for 55 years and have eight children and nineteen grandchildren.

THE FORTIES Joan Perry Mix '45 lives in Sebring, FL., where she keeps busy with Bingo and card games and meetings of the Moose, American Legion and Amvets Auxiliary. Joan has six children, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren "and one on the way". Her eldest son, Leonard Mix, Jr., died of a heart attack last year at age 53. Mary Therese Sweeney-Jones '45 lives in Sylmar, CA, where she enjoys painting, card games, golf and travel. A retired college professor, she goes by Enid Jones professionally. "I kept my nun name after 22 years as a Benedictine," she writes. She has fond memories of Sister Marie Stephen, who had time for everyone who needed her; and the nun who "had us pray for all the sins committed in the Forest Preserve." Congratulations to Therese Mullins Rigali '49 and husband Robert, who were chosen as the 2010 recipients of the Joseph Cardinal Bernardin "In Service of One Another" Catholic Humanitarian Award in honor of their dedication to the Church and to Mundelein Seminary. Bob and Therese have spent a lifetime of dedicated service to the Church, helping to create beautiful Church environments in which thousands worship each week. Bob is the retired president of Daprato Rigali Studios, a company which has provided 150 years of service to the Church through their work in statuary, stained glass window creation and restoration, marble work and other artistic disciplines which enhance the beauty of many worship spaces throughout Chicago and the country.

"Two of the wives on our trip are Trinity Alums, Mary Lou Gentle Morrissy '52 and Nancy Brizzolara Lorenz '52. They and their spouses were with us when we took the tram up Rendezvous Mt. We were in the shack up there getting cocoa when I heard voices singing the T Club song. Nancy and Mary Lou had found a table with another woman at it. They introduced themselves to Judy McDermott Henderson '53! They ran over to get me and we had our own reunion. Judy and her husband live in L.A. and were on the last day of their vacation. Go figure!"

"I returned to the Chicago area after 50 years and one of the greatest blessings has been to reconnect with my Trinity friends," writes Sr. Marilyn Aiello, O.P '55, whose new address is in Lombard, IL.
Mary Gatsakos Amidei '55 and husband John are snow birds, spending winters in Naples, FL. They come home for Christmas and summers to Crystal Lake, IL. They love to dance at least once a week, workouts at the gym, pool and bike riding…"A less stressful life." Catherine Carlstrom Yagunic '55 and husband George live in Elmwood Park, IL. She is retired and serves as a minister of care, lector and Eucharistic minister as well as a food pantry volunteer. Catherine has fond memories of Trinity's beautiful May Crownings.
Sister Jean Frances Dolan, O.S.B. '55 has been a Benedictine Oblate nun since shortly after graduating from Trinity. Sister Jean lives in her monastic community's health care center in Clyde, MO, and corresponds with about 400 Benedictine Oblates (lay associates) monthly. She has also written a children's book, illustrated with her own pen and ink drawings. "My life is prayer," she writes. Annette Spicuzza Roeder '55 lives in Des Plaines, IL, where she enjoys travel and garden club. She volunteers at Holy Family Hospital and is a minister of care, Eucharistic minister and greeter at her church. Anne and her husband, Robert, celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2010 and have eighteen grandchildren. "Retirement is very busy and we are enjoying it very much," writes Mary Beth Hoffman Holpuch '55 from Rocklin, CA. Mary Beth and husband Otto moved to northern California 11 years ago to be near their grandchildren. They have also been doing quite a bit of traveling and are active in their church. Mary Beth is president of the parish Ladies Guild and a Eucharistic minister, and Otto is an usher.

THE SIXTIES Oh, how I wish I could share with everyone the beautifully written and recalled memories that my classmates contributed to our Class of 1960 Memory Book, created as we celebrated our 50Year Reunion. (Special kudos to Lonnie Serpe Coteleer '60 for producing the book and the amazing DVD that we all received!) Favorite classes and especially favorite teachers (a constellation of Dominicans presided over by our dearly beloved Sister Ignatius). Dances and sports events…the amazingly innocent "trouble" we got into along the way…the Senior trip to Washington…the plays and concerts we performed in…the infamous green gabardine uniforms (rolled up at the waist, of course) and the big, puffy prom dresses…and most of all the friendships stronger than sisterhood, enduring through all the years. How wonderful to see all those familiar faces once again at our reunion celebration! And what a special joy to see my old friend from St. Catherine of Siena and current Near North neighbor, Mary Prendergast '60, receive the Alumnae Leadership Award from Sister Michelle.
Maria Ambrosia Pudlo '65 and husband Thomas are living in Itasca, IL. "Both my kids graduated from college within 2 weeks of each other. Theresa has a doctorate in Physical Therapy and Anthony has an MBA and Doctor of Pharmacy degree. No grandchildren, just a “grand dog” and two “grand kitties." "My first year of retirement from full-time teaching has been marked by an amazing trip to Peru, and reconnecting with all 'four sides' of out-of-state family," writes Peg Jirasek Percival '65. Peg is a retired bilingual/ESL teacher for the Berwyn Public Schools, and credits her Trinity Spanish teacher, Sister Martana, for her decision to major in Spanish at Rosary College and go on to a teaching career. "Best of all, my husband and I became first time grandparents in December! God is good!"

Christine Biggio Weyna '70 and husband Rick celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary last June by renewing their wedding vows in Las Vegas, NV, at the same time and place that their daughter Karen was married. Karen and Dave Flores traveled from Portland, OR, to join Christine and Rick for this very special occasion. Christine recently received the Girl Scouts' "Hidden Heroine" award, a new award created to honor volunteers who embody the Girl Scout principle to help where needed. Marilyn DiSilvestro Kroll '70 lives in the western suburbs of Chicago and has a new job driving a school bus. She is the grandmother of Gianna Rosemarie, 1, and another grandchild born in January. Josephine Tagarelli Urani '70 and husband David live in Westchester, IL. Josephine is a medical technologist for Loyola University Medical Center. Josephine and David have three grown children: Joseph, a lawyer; Maria Urani '99, a clinical psychologist; and Larau, a teacher. "I am soon to be a grandmother," she writes. "Although I have been with DePaul University for 17 years, I just started teaching this year,' writes Donna DelGiudice '70, "I have been teaching an internship class, and this fall will teach a career class for adult students." Susan Nadar Thompson '70 loved the whole Trinity experiences, especially "being able to be a good student without being teased by the boys!" Susan and husband Michael live in Marblehead, MA, where she is a self-employed marketing consultant. Susan Maroney '70 designs giftware products and graphics, packaging and displays for a wholesale giftware company. She lives in Riverside, IL. Kathleen Donegan Patrasso '70 and husband Thomas live in St. Charles, IL. Kathleen is a retired nurse. Her daughter, Jennifer Patrasso Smith '92, has been married for 10 years. Kathleen's niece, Sarah Anne Lentes '10, graduated from Trinity last May. Kathleen remembers rolled-up skirts, saddle shoes, sock hops with Fenwick, and her class's memorable senior trip to California. "My oldest son just got married (last) June 26th," writes Ann DeGilio Williams '75, "I have four sons so adding my daughter-in-law is great (I'm not the only girl anymore.)" Kathleen M. Nee '75 is a project director for the State of Illinois Division of Mental Health, where she has worked for 36 years. Kathleen works with clinical technology to assist the mentally ill for the criminal justice system. She made a national presentation in Orlando,FL, last March. Kathleen, who lives in Algonquin, IL, has two grown children and a nine-year-old granddaughter.
Kimberly Niziolek Eggert '75 has her own interior design firm, Critical Decisions Interior Design, in Park Ridge, IL. Kimberly and husband Jeffrey have one daughter. "My husband Ron and I live on 23 acres amid the cornfields, 40 miles south of Chicago," writes Sharon Gannon Fitzpatrick '75 from Essex, IL. Dina Principe Sbarra '87 has just completed a second Master's degree, this one in Administration. Her first was in Curriculum Instruction, and both degrees are from Northern Illinois University. This is Dina's seventeenth year teaching science to middle schoolers in Glen Ellyn, IL. Dina and husband Tony have two children, ages 14 and 9. The Sbarras live in West Chicago, IL.
THE NINETIES Maria Balice Kresnicka '90 is a self-employed public relations consultant. "I've discovered that not a lot of people have fond recollections of high school - but I loved Trinity." Julie and husband John just had their fifth child in October.

That first group of IBers also includes a pharmacist, April Peregrino ‘97, a nurse practitioner, Jolanata Markievicz ‘97, another nurse Becky Krcmarik ‘97, an engineer, Suja Issac ‘97, a French teacher Brianna Dahly ‘97, a masters in environmental science, Christina Forst ‘97 and who knows what else? Sam Cleary ‘97, who filled me in. I got positive feedback from the young women present and felt all the work they did, and all the teachers did with the IB program, was well worth it ... it was as scary for us as for them. I still have feelings of stress starting every May 1st just thinking about that IB testing! Trinity can be proud of all their accomplishments of challenging and empowering young women ... and continue to do so!”
THE 2000'S Jacob and Catherine Kavanagh Schlie '01, who live in Berwyn, IL, have one daughter, Pearl Roxanne, born June 23, 2009, and expect a second child in March. Catherine is an administrative assistant at Concordia University.
Vernessa Glenn Glover '01 holds two Master's degrees, in business administration and healthcare administration. Nursing with a focus in Women's Health this year from Loyola University Chicago. She is very excited to start practicing as a women's health nurse practitioner in a private gynecology practice at Northwestern. Catherine has been working for the past five years as a registered nurse on the mother/baby unit and the labor and delivery unit at the Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, IL.
Lauren Hallie Muellner '04 graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in theatre. She was given an internship directly out of college teaching theater to children all over the Chicagoland area. Lauren just made her directorial debut at Gorilla Tango Theatre directing and producing a play called "Republic County", a comedy about unemployment.

Sarah Mueller '05 is a kindergarten/special education preschool teacher at North Elementary in Franklin Park, IL. She lives in Elmwood Park, IL. Amy Cade '05 recently graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign with a second major in industrial design and worked at a research position there until June. Since then, she has started a program in Milwaukee where she will receive her Master's in Education. She started teaching this fall. Mary O'Brien '05 is currently working downtown as an account executive at Edline, and living in Oak Park, IL. And finally, congratulations to one of our newest alums, Danielle DuBois '10, who received the Heartprint Award from the Hephzibah Children's Association. The award goes to volunteers at the Hephzibah Children's home in Oak Park. Danielle was in 7th grade when she first volunteered there, and returned to volunteer again when she was 14. She was a big sister to a young girl for two years. Danielle is now a freshman at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, studying biology and linguistics, and continuing the volunteerism that she started at Hephzibah. She is tutoring immigrant women and teaching them English. Thanks to all who sent so much material for this issue…I really had to edit in order to get everybody in, and I apologize in advance for any information I inadvertently left out!
