Taste of Trinity

What: This is a casual preview luncheon for new families who are interested in sending their children to Trinity Christian School. It is a time for them to get a "feel" for TCS and ask questions. Who: We need volunteers to set up, provide food, greet, and serve these families. It's a great time to share what Trinity has meant to us! When: January 23, 2014 & May 8, 2014 Where: Stage II, University Campus Contact: For more information, contact Tasha Bossio at tbossio@tcslubbock.org.

The Standard Twice a year, TCS publishes a magazine to celebrate the activities and events of the entire school body, from TLC (Trinity Learning Center, our infant through 4 yr old program) up through the 12th grade. Copies are provided to parents, as well as prospective families who may be enrolling students in our school. Parents interested in helping can provide photographs or assist with writing of articles. Contact: Julie Cordero; 806.392.1443

6th Grade Orientation

What: Junior High! Just hearing those words can make a parent shudder. This is an informal lunch provided by Junior High parents. Incoming 7th grade parents hear and meet many of the Junior High teachers, coaches, and staff, as well as parents who can answer any questions and relieve some of the anxiety of sending their baby off to the Junior High. Who: We need volunteers to provide lunch, set up, greet and answer questions. It's always nice to share our experiences with other families. When: Friday, January 24, 2014 Where: Stage II, University Campus Contact: For more information, contact Michelle at msosebee@tcslubbock.org.

The PreK/K Roundup

What: This is a casual “open house type gathering for parents with Pre-Kindergarteners or Kindergarteners who may be interested in their children attending Trinity. Some could be families who have had their children in our Trinity Learning Center program but are unfamiliar with Trinity Christian School. This is a time for them to meet other TCS families and ask questions. Who: We need TCS families to bring food and be on hand to greet and tell potential new families of their experiences at Trinity. When: Thursday, February 6, 2014 Where: Canton Campus Contact: For more information, contact Tasha at tbossio@tcslubbock.org.

CONNECTIONS Parents, was your child a new student once, and you wished for someone who could "show you the ropes"? Did you feel overwhelmed with questions? What exactly is God and Nation Day? Should I be a room mom? What can a Dad do to get involved? Mission's Week? Student Executive Council? Which campus do I go to for what? Well, now we have a place that seeks to help answer all those questions and more. We are called the Connections Team. We are a group of parents who are willing to commit to a year of partnering with a new family at TCS. We are a friendly face to welcome them to the first day of school, athletic events, and extra curricular activities. We hope to make each new student and family feel loved, accepted and a part of the Trinity family. It is easy to be a part of this fantastic team. We just need a happy volunteer to be willing to text, call, and answer questions about TCS. If you are looking for your place to plug in at Trinity, contact Amy Cox at amymcox@sbcglobal.net. Amy is currently matching up incoming families for 2013-2014.

2013-2014 PARENTING

CALENDAR

Why Parenting?

Parenting is a hallmark of TCS, a foundational concept since the inception of the school in 1977. The mission of Trinity Christian School is to partner with Christian parents in the process of discipleship, so that their children will embrace biblical truth, achieve academic excellence, and model godly leadership in their homes, churches and communities. At TCS, we desire to: • Help parents create a passion for the family God has given them. • Help families obtain skills to be the best parents possible. • Partner with students and parents to meet educational and spiritual goals. • Help prepare students to effectively impact the world for Christ. • Encourage parents and students in discovering the unique calling and purpose God has planned for their child’s life.

Each parent is required to attend at least one parenting class per semester, and complete one hour of classroom observation per semester. Below is a calendar of important dates. Morning Classes will take place 8:30-9:30am in The Edge (6701 University). Evening Classes will take place on the University Campus 7:15-8:pm unless otherwise noted.
