ABOUT US VisArts aims to promote the appreciation of and engagement with art on campus and beyond. Encouraging the active engagement with art in Trinity and beyond, our society’s aim is to provide a means for members to participate in and cultivate a vibrant and dynamic visual arts scene. We organise gallery trips to allow our members to enhance their knowledge of art, both contemporary and of the past, as well as other visual arts related trips, including our annual trip abroad to some of Europe’s most esteemed cultural hotspots. Our members can enrich themselves creatively through our arts and crafts workshops, including our monthly paint and sips, jewellery making, collage creation and clothing upcycling events. Encouraging our members to express themselves artistically is one of the things we strive for most -- we host artists and speakers from various backgrounds and disciplines to speak to the society’s members, and we organise screenings for documentaries or conceptual art films. The society also proudly advocates for the display and appreciation of student art -- we host an annual End of Year Exhibition which is one of the most popular events of the college calendar, and provides students with an opportunity to showcase their work to a huge audience. Dedicated to students who have a keen interest in the visual arts -- whether that be participating in creative pursuits or actively engaging in the appreciation of art -- we strive to provide Trinity students with events of interest.

Treasurer - Annalisa Sorensen - Our treasurer keeps track of the society’s finances, keeps record of everything we spend and makes sure we have enough money to hold our amazing events. PRO - Aoife Breen - Our PRO is tasked with handling the society’s social media accounts, uploads our events online and has a really keen eye for design, as she’s responsible for designing all of our graphics and posters. Events Manager - Chloe Mant - Charged with dreaming up our event ideas, as well as helping to organise them, our Events Manager handles collaborating with other societies and booking venues to make events happen. Librarian - Harry Bibby - The librarian holds our weekly coffee hours, where we offer film screenings and warm libations, and is also in charge of our society equipment and lending out books from our fantastic library. Trips Coordinator - Ina Hresc - Ina is in charge of leading us on all our off-campus events, forging routes for our gallery tours and planning our annual trip abroad.

OCM x3 - Kate Burke, Louise Carton and Maggie O’Shea - Offering a huge amount of help to the society, our Ordinary Committee Members assist the running of the society in general, particularly in the execution of events.

EVENTS Paint and Sip Our famous paint and sip events provide our members with the opportunity to relax and foster their creativity. Here, we organise a space for keen painters to come and chill out for an hour or two on campus. We provide you with paints, brushes and other materials to daub to your heart’s content, with some groovy tunes and refreshments.

Exhibitions Our most treasured events are those which provide our members with the opportunity to display their work. We host a minimum of two large exhibitions per year where students can submit their art for display. Each Michaelmas term, we provide those interested with sketchbooks to fill with their compositions -- a really handy and low-commitment way to express yourself in your own time. We then host our Sketchbook Exhibition on campus with music and refreshments, allowing visitors to flick through the prismatic and eye-catching compositions of the other members. Our End of Year Exhibition is one of the most anticipated events in the college campus, and is widely attended by students and staff alike. We invite our members to submit their artworks for display in one of Dublin’s most prestigious galleries for an evening of live performance, music and refreshments. Dozens of artworks are displayed throughout the exhibition for the appreciation of the visitors.

Gallery Tours Providing the members with an opportunity to get off campus and delve into the vibrant and dynamic art scene of Dublin, we organise gallery tours for our members to meander through the city and appreciate some of the best art the city has to offer. Often held in conjunction with other societies on campus, these gallery crawls are some of the most rewarding experiences of ours, particularly with the scope to meet new people and to see some of the best art in the city.
