CATALYST OF EXPRESSION

FLORECER Florecer ; bloom in Spanish. “Lost souls gather together and bloom together” is the manifesto for the creative hub project. The broken mirror pieces represent “lost” people in the creative industry that are still seeking help, searching for their identity and yet to be inspired. “Bloom together” means the artists will be inspiring not just each other but also the public. Relating to the project site Tasik Titiwangsa, the creative hub’s design intention is to provide a healing space for the creative people to find their true selves. With the selected art - paper cutting, the paper cutting patterns represent the soundwave to let the users enjoy the artworks while imagining the sound that represents the artists' emotions in this calm and quiet site, there goes the concept of the creative hub "feel the sound."

CREATIVE HUB & CREATIVE FACADE | SOUSTRAIRE A creative hub in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa A project to design a creative hub that brings enterprising people together who work in the creative and cultural industries. The design is adapted and reinterpreted in the development of a gallery with a Creative Facade that is suitable for the meaning of a creative Hub. As a part of the riverside initiative, the students must elaborate the idea of incorporating the river to link between sites as a strategy in their design, widening the perspective of design into an idea of using the river as an alternative transportation method.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

DESIGN CONCEPT

DESIGN INTENTION

Sense of Journey - To not have an immediate entrance to the building. Users will have to go around the building by passing through landscapes and water bodies to reach the entrance to allow users to appreciate the surrounding vegetation. The concept of the building is devired from the art style - paper cutting art. Some parts of the paper are cut out (subtraction) yet the other parts are still connected to each other. Not just structurally but this strategy aims to connect people with nature and art.
