WHY BUY IN THE WINTER?

The winter can be a great time to buy because there's more inventory, meaning you'll have an easier shot at getting your dream home. If you wait until July or August when our inventory is depleted, it can make things more difficult and potentially more expensive!

Most people selling in the winter want their home to sell in "Season". Keep in mind that just because a seller may be motivated isn't a reason to dramatically undercut the asking price if you want the home

Typically it's easier to find movers in the winter. They can be booked out for months in the warmer times of the year.

Homes typically close in 30-45 days In the winter months, the market is often busy and the title companies may be backed up Most winter sellers want to close in April or May

DECORATING IDEAS FOR A COZY JANUARY

Consider leaving some holiday decorations around the house that can be used past the holiday season. These could be white lights, centerpieces with greenery or a basket in the corner.

Keep the focus on light colors or accents. Add in some textures with fluffy pillows or even a sheepskin rug thrown over a chair or the back of a sofa.

Nothing says winter like some birch logs stacked in the fireplace or even upright in a basket with some pinecones and other winter accessories.

Give your mantel a quick update with a large mirror, some candlesticks and a touch of greenery.

Consider adding some extra textured bedding, pillows and throws in your bedroom to have it feeling cozy and warm. These are little things that are easy to take out when the weather starts to warm up again.

White dishes are perfect for bringing the wintery feel into a home. They stand out beautifully against dark backgrounds and offer an icy touch with their crisp white finish. Accents like wood pieces scattered throughout also provide texture which helps liven up your space.
