Create templates using InDesign for a variety of packages. 7. Create a library of elements for use in producing their newspaper. 8. Evaluate proper page layout. 9. jcamp Alternative Copy Ideas General Purpose: The idea behind alternative copy in designing your paper is that you appeal to all types of readers. This is someone who is just skimming to get the basic facts on what happened in the story. This could also be someone fascinated with statistics which many sports fans are. It could also entice someone to come to an event because of the long history and tradition. The following is a list of ideas that derive from magazines, newspapers, the web and just plain creative thought. These ideas have been derived mainly for sports but you can easily adapt this list for any section. 1. By the numbers. 2. Quotes (coaches, players, fans, etc.) 3. Quarter by quarter schematic. 4. Style aspects of the game (hairdo’s, shoes. equipment, etc.) 5. Meals/Nutrition (Nutrition guides on packages) 6. Preview of what’s to come. 7. For the record (Records achieved in the past) 8. Me and my number 9. Ten Questions 10. 8 things you should know before... 11. Oddities and superstitions 12. Leader Board 13. Monday armchair quarterback thoughts
