Tim Adams Wines: Reflecting the Rich Soil of Australia's Clare Valley Australia’s family-owned and operated Tim Adams Wines was born of a partnership between Tim and Pam Adams and local coopers, Bill and Jill Wray, in 1984. The business began with the idea of making wine and small oak casks. Located in the beautiful Clare Valley, 130km or about two hours north of Adelaide in South Australia, the winery reflects rich soil of the region in their wines—Elegant, Balanced and Distinctively Australian.

Tracing the Journey This first year fell in the middle of a grape shortage, but fortunately, the budding company was able to beg 10 tonnes of Shiraz from a good friend and neighbour. The year 1986 saw the first release of the first vintage under the 'Adams and Wray' label, but the partnership was later dissolved in 1987, with the young couples choosing to focus on their respective passions. The families are still good friends to this day. 1987 continued to be an eventful year for the newly named ​Tim Adams Wines​, with the purchase of the current winery site at Warenda Road in Clare and arrival of daughter Frances.
